They know their Toyotas

They are closed on Sundays. I have never needed a loaner, so I don't know if they would provide one.

Until I was introduced to the Toy Doctor, I always took my Lexus vehicles to the dealer for service. They use Lexus parts, but overhead and labor rates are much lower than the dealer. I have found them to be competent, responsive and very professional

I have a 2010 Toyota Prius IV and needed the 25,000 mile service. I took the car to Toy Doctor, Inc. in Tualatin because of recommendations, even though the recommendations were old. The Toyota owner's manual and maintenance manual state "only synthetic 0w-20 oil should be used and only needs to be replaced every 10,000 miles. The manual states the engine is built for synthetic oil only and synthetic oil will produce better gas mileage. The Toy Doctor tech used regular 5w-30 motor oil, not synthetic and wants to change the oil every 2,000 miles. They performed fewer checks than the dealership as well. I will replace the regular oil with synthetic. The other thing is they charged $72.66 to change oil, check air filter, and inspect brakes. If I took the car back to them every 2,000 miles as they stated I would pay a total of $363.30 while the dealership would have charged only $94.90 for a 5,000 and 10,000 mile service. I would pay $268.40 more to the Toy Doctor than the dealership and would not get synthetic oil. I will not go back to the Toy Doctor again.

I felt horribly scammed by the service we had done. My son's Camry broke down on the side of the highway and we had it towed to the Toy Dr. as they were the closes Toyota repair facility. Initially they told me the engine had to be replaced. Options were used or reconditioned. I paid fully list price for a used engine, then they said the motor for the A/C was out and it would be another $600 (it worked when we brought it in, but saw how it could have been related). Then when the car was finally ready my son drove it off and day #1 the radiator over heated. He called Toy Dr. immediately who checked it and said it would be ok. Then every day it would overheat and he'd call the Toy Dr. who said to fill the antifreeze which he did. Bottom line he brought it back in and they said the radiator needs to be replaced for $400. They know exactly what they're doing to make more money off of unsuspecting clients. STAY AWAY or you'll be in the same scenario. I had him take it to another shop that can be trusted.
