Hey, they work on my Fiat...er, um, I mean my Bertone X1/9. That alone is worth some points. Never any problems, always written suggestions ( like "your running light on the left-rear is out ) never do work without asking, polite, ethical. What planet did they come from, anyway? Your mileage may vary, but I'm satisfied and after many years with an X1/9 that should say a lot. (s.) oz in orygun

I have been going to this shop ever since I took the first car I ever purchased (a used one) to them for a pre- purchase check up. They were brutally honest and very thorough. They have worked on my Chevy Nova (the geeky kind) for all of the 80,000 miles I drove it. They explain things thoroughly. They are environmentally conscious, honest to the extreme, priced a little higher than others maybe, but it's worth it. They are a model for good customer service. I treat them like the family doctors for all my cars. Even when they can't do the work, they have ALWAYS given me equally reliable referrals. I hesitate to recommend them only because they might get too busy!

HAC is terrific! They saved me a ton of money on exhaust repairs. Art explained the problem to me in detail and he took the time to discuss my options. Everyone else there was very courteous and friendly as well. I highly recommend Hawthorne Auto Clinic, and I plan on giving them all of my future auto repair business.

I found these guys through this website- thanks!! I moved to Portland after living overseas for 4 years and had no idea where to start....They not only are really helpful and nice, they were able to direct me to a great 'car- education' class for women (taught by women mechanics). They are more expensive than many other places, but for major things, it's worth it.

It is true, they are more expensive than other shops in the area. But I have never left a shop with such an overwelming feeling of confidence in the repairs done. When I had a very strange noise that was particularly hard to locate, the subaru tech could have replaced everything in front of the firewall and I would have gone along with it, but no...he found the noise was actually some sort of harmonic resonance from my yakima roof rack. Pure genius.

I completely trust this shop - they explain everything thoroughly. The gang there gives you a heads up about things that your car will need in the future. They are environmentally conscious, give bus tickets to get you back where you're going and donate gift certificates to help public schools auctions(which is how I found them). I am selling my car and wouldn't get a car that they don't work on.
