The truck was diagnosed at the Toyota dealership at $1500 for a main seal and clutch replacement. North Coast Auto came in at a much more reasonable price, got it done just as fast and were way friendlier about the whole process.

Our 83 VW camper van broke down one morning, during the third week or a month-long trip, while crossing the bridge into Astoria. Never been to Astoria, but a lady that saw us pushing the van reccomended North Coast, so we had it towed there. They were very professional, fit us in with their VW specialist as the next car on the list. They were systematic in checking everything out and found out that our altinator was going haywire. They had one in stock and had us on our way by mid-afternoon. They also took care of a few other small problems while the van was on the lift. Overall, they treated us really well when they could have easily screwed over a couple of out-of-towners for a quick buck.

Closest shop to my home so they have done a fair amount of work. Always had good luck with them. Haven't needed them for a while thank goodness.

I am an elderly woman with an older car. I've tried another shop in the area before I went to North Coast. Terrible customer service, no eye contact, no interest in communication. They overcharged me for a transmission service, told me I needed a new transmission and said a previous repair from a trusted mechanic was leaking. I got a second and third opinion on the transmission service--which was double what it should have been. I contacted my former long term mechanic and drove a total of 6 hours to have the original shop redo the repair under warranty--there was no strong evidence that the repair was necessary. Don't go to North Coast Auto in Astoria!!
