Over the years I was in the area Mike became an acquaintance and someone I trusted. If he found something he felt was 'on the edge' or was needed in addition to what had been requested he always called first and had estimate of time, parts and labor costs. He would save old parts, explain to me what was going on/why he recommended whatever he was recommending (even drew me a purty picture on occassion!!!) He is a one man operation the last I heard but is a very good mechanic, thorough, honest and appears to enjoy what he is doing. He is in a very small town in the boonies, no public transportation in the area and would often pick me up and/or take me home when the car was too 'sick' to go home. When the van needed a transmission he recommended me to a trans shop in the area and followed up with me to ensure all was handled. I may be a female but my family business was a garage/gas station and I grew up around stock cars, super modified, midgets........raced my own at the drag strip and currently am a 'crew member' for a friend who races open wheel/formula continental. I am not a mechanic but I know an engine from a motor!!!!! (DUH) and was so relieved to find someone like Mike Gries - the owner of B & M. Would recommend him to anyone - and I do - even tho I have moved out of the general area I still go to him when I can. Worth it.
