I've been driving Volvos for 5 years now, and I've been taking them to Gary ever since I bought my first one. He has always been honest and taken the time to answer any questions I've had. Not only has he maintained my cars (my first car, now owned by my parents and still serviced at Tremaines, has almost 225,000 miles on it and counting) but he has also found good quality used cars for me. As long as I own a Volvo, I'll be taking it to Gary.

I have been using Tremaine's for over 12 years. They always have been honest, capable and very reasonably priced (both parts and labor). My daily driver is an 83 245 with about a quarter of a million miles on it, and they have kept it and the rest of the fleet (3 other Volvos) running well for years. I would highly recommend them.

I started taking my Volvos there because of this site's recommendations. It is a Volvo only shop so I know they can diagnose and fix any problem. Have had excellent service almost all the time with very reasonable charges and Gary has always been helpful when I stop by for a quick answer or fix to a question or problem I have. They will use parts you supply. My one complaint is of the most recent service- the labor cost seemed inflated from what I had been accustomed to-don't know why other than a new mechanic has been added. They did fix a problem that remained from that servicing for no charge. I have recommended them to other Volvo owners. So on balance I would say that this is the place to go for Volvo work.

Waited 5 days to get in with no overdrive function. The car had just blown a hose and still had the engine light on after a DYI replacement, so I wanted that checked too. The computer was cleared from the second issue, but the diagnosis for the overdrive problem was: "a gut feeling" that it was a bad transmission. After waiting 5 days for a gut feeling, went somewhere else where an overdrive solenoid was replaced, and now works fine. They had previously been very reliable. I don't call it dishonest, rather too busy. In regards to the review, I would have to say they have always been competent and honest and due to this they have a loyal customer base. Apparently, they were too busy for quick access, having many regular customers and being a Volvo specialist, are in demand as these cars are on the road a long time. Disappointed, been going there for 8 years (only minor issues - good car). No credit cards - tough with the unknown costs of car repair.
