East David is a great shop with honest, competent mechanics. They can diagnose and fix just about any problem. Once, when my brakes were making a nasty noise on my way to work, I stopped there and they took it for a short drive while I waited. Turns out it was no big deal. They didn't want any money for the time or the advice. The only problem is that they have such a good reputation that they're VERY busy and sometimes it's a 2 week wait before they can get to you.

I've been a customer of East David for many years. I have all my routine oil changes etc done there even though it's more expensive than the quick and jiffy places. On more than one occasion they've caught problems before they became problems for me eg. bad belts, cracked spare tire, oil leak etc. They are not cheap, but when the job is done, you don't have to worry.

I have used East David Automotive since the mid 1970's and have never had a bad experience. They are very competent, honest and go out of their way to explain your needed repairs and discuss what they did when you pick up your car. Top Notch !!!!

I've been taking all of my vehicles to eat david for over 10 years and have recommended them to many friends and co- workers. It's nice to know that there are still honest competent mechanics out there. I only buy used cars now because I know I have someone I can trust to work on them.

My ABS light went on for my '02 Chrysler 300M. I took it to a local dealer, who pulled 2 fault codes indicating a faulty wheel sensor and ABS controller. I did not have the dealer make the repairs, and instead took the car to East David and told them what the dealer wanted to replace. East David said the dealer interpreted the fault codes incorrectly, and that the problem was 2 bad wheel sensors - the expensive ABS controller was fine. They fixed the problem for less than half what the dealer wanted and gave me the old parts to show the damaged wiring. I also had them go over all the mechanical systems in the car. They took a lot of time to explain what they found, and I knew enough about the condition of the car to know they were honest in their advise. I now go to them before the dealer.

I was an auto mechanic in an earlier career. I feel sorry for those who don't have an honest capable auto shop. I buy cars with about 100,000 miles on them and trust East David to keep them reliable for 1 or 2 hundred thousand more. I perform the routine maintenance myself and rely on East David for anything I don't have the time or skills for. In my experience East David Automotive is the best. More than once they have spent time diagnosing or fixing my cars and did not charge me. I've used them dozens of times over the past 14 years or so and have always been pleased with the communication and service. The prices are very reasonable.

They are honest in telling you what the problem is or - event better - whether there is really any problem. They always suggest you to balance your budget vs. your need to repair the car.

I am very disappointed with the quality of service and the honesty of East David Automotive. Out first repair with East David replaced a timing belt and a water pump - quoted by a former mechanic for $700, but costing $1000 at East David. Our second repair was even more disappointing. I took my car to them because my airbag light was on and formerly replaced timing belt was squeaking (started squeaking immediately after first repair). Not only were they not able to fix my airbag (requiring a tool and codes they did not own), they claimed that they did not cause the squeaking and tried to convince me it was a part within the timing belt system that displayed no problems previous to the first repair. Though all they did was open the hood, I still was charged $40 for 20 minutes of "checking" the car. On top of all that, I received my car back smelling very strongly of cigarette smoke, which the first office manager adamantly denied but the second admitted they smoke "around" the car; yet they made no offer to clean the car and just shrugged the smell off. I do not trust these people and I would be very wary of going there.
