Dave Murtaugh is the mechanic you need to go to. He takes cars that the dealers can't figure out the problems to and fixes them the right way, first time. The local police and fire departments also trust their vehicles to Dave to get it done right, honest and hardworking, the man should have a statue erected out in front of the shop.

The head mechanic is Dave Murtaugh, affectionately known as "Dr. Dave" I've taken multiple vehicles to him in the past 15 years, he works on all brands and can figure anything out. Very honest, honest to a fault! I know that even car dealerships that cannot figure out what is wrong with THEIR OWN CARS will send it to Dr. Dave who might take a day to figure out the problem but he will, he can fix it and if he cannot the vehicle is clearly hopeless and he will let you know. The city police and fire vehicles are there for service as well so they trust him. Dr. Dave is the older man in the small shop, you can seek him out by his slightly grayed hairs and a cigar which he never lights but chews down all day while working. They always have a few cars in line so you might have to wait a day to bring yours in but from oil changes to removing your entire engine to install a new cylinder, Dr. Dave is the guy.

Initially, they were good at fixing the problems on the car including exhaust leak, fuel line leak, tune up and I felt like the cost was fair. This last time, the owner was there. One of the problems was fixed, but there was a lot of other work done to the car that didn't fix the second problem, and I believe was unnecessary. I think I may have been confused with the Porsche owner wearing the gold chain, when I got the bill. Either that, or the owner had a boat payment coming up. Another thing that cost me extra to fix was replacement of coolant at a different location. An older coolant containing silicates was used instead of OAT coolant. They also put a heavier weight oil in the engine than what it takes. I replaced that myself. I'm reluctant to go back because of the huge bill that didn't solve my second problem with the car and the use of incorrect fluids.

They saved me money and extended the life of my car. I appreciated this and will return when I need repairs.
