After being at a chain oil change place that forgot to put the oil in someone else's car (and talked about it on the phone in front of me), I knew I needed a garage and dreaded finding one (I have no problem with paying more at a dealership, but Ford dealers in Rochester have a bad service rep - never tested it beyond the reputation). Farrell's Garage was recommended to me and I have never been talked down to and I have always felt like my car was better after a visit than before, which has not been the case with all investments in my car. If only they would do a Mass inspection for a newbie to Boston, I would drive all the way west (7 hours) for it.

Another shop told me I had to go to the dealer, and Ferrel's had it good as new in no time. Another time, I had a car was ready to bite the dust, (after 15 years of faithful service) and the guys at the garage put me in touch with another customer who was selling just the kind of car I needed! (I bought it) That is some customer service!

How can you go wrong with a local Car Talk sponsor. These guys are thorough and honest. They may not be the cheapest or most convenient, but they know their cars. My car was in bad shape and they were willing to go through each item with me. They did a great job finding used parts.

So far, I have found this to be a great garage. They make you aware of problems that you may face in the future, but do not pressure you to have them do the repair immediately (unless it is unsafe to let it go). They have offered me multiple options for repairs, explaining each one carefully. They also do a good job estimating how long it will take to complete a repair. I do not feel like I am left in the dark when I bring in a vehicle. We have been treated with respect and Ferrell's has done a good job with our 1995 Ford Explorer and our 2001 VW Passat.

They are so good that they are recommanded by other repair shops (I'm talking from experiance). Very friendly and they treat women sometimes better then men when servicing their vehicle.
