I moved back to the Rochester area after spending 10 years in Arlington, VA (just outside of DC). For many services (doctor, dentist, auto mechanic), I had to start all over again. I took my car to Bill and Earl's based on a comment from this website. I was very impressed with their service. They were very nice, fixed my car right the first time and charged me a reasonable price. The mechanic even let me know that my timing belts would need to be replaced soon but recommended that I could get another 5,000 miles out of them. I appreciated the honesty; they could have easily told me that they "needed to be fixed now" but they didn't. I will definitely go back to them for future repairs.

It is a small, dingy looking place tucked behind a small local restaurant. I was referred to this place by a work colleague who raved about them. The first day I walked in, there were two other people I knew standing around waiting to leave their cars. An encouraging sign! They are very polite, take time to explain what's wrong, don't do anything you don't need and offer you a ride if you need it. They examined the used Honda I was about to purchase and didn't charge. The clincher was buying 4 new summer tires and their offer to drop the winter tires at my home because they did not all fit in my trunk, so "my car seats wouldn't get dirty." Highly recommend Pat and the others.

I have had my cars repaired at Bill and Earl's, only, for 36 years. I have never doubted their competency or honesty and have always appreciated their sincere efforts to make 'car repair time' a less stressful experience.

I had Bill and Earl's work on a variety of General Motors cars and I recommend them to every one I know.

Notice all other reviews are from over almost 2 years old now...This used to be a place I would take my car and recommend to others, not anymore! They did not fix what I said wanted done and I ended up with an unnecessary $600 bill! They wouldn't own up to their mistake either, so now this wonderful bill gets to be disputed. Oh and on top of that, they gave me a huge list of 'necessary repairs' to be done on my car. Took to another garage only to be told that all of these were completely minor! One of which the mechanic flat out lied to me about how bad a leak was. I'm never taking my car here again.
