As a college student at SUNY Fredonia I needed to get some work done to my VW before going home. The shop quickly figured out what was wrong with my car and fixed it for a better price than my mechanic at home. They have worked on my car numerous times and always explain what is wrong and will go out of their way to work on my car. They have always been courteous and respectful even helping out when i had a problem with another shop. I recommend them to all my friends here at school. On the plus side they also have an excellent shuttle service and free coffee, soda and popcorn.

I had been going for regular maintainance for the last two years and they had been ok, but not spectacular. Strike 1- They didn't inform me about a part recall last year, I had to find out from the dealership here I bought the car when I went to visit my in-laws. Strike 2- I went in last week after I had left my lights on and drained the battery. I wanted to get it checked before I went on a 7hr road trip for a holiday weekend. I had had no problems with the car before, not with the battery or anything else. They told me that me battery had died (not sure I believe this) and that I needed one to the tune of $289. They 'generously' cut it to $241 when I complained, and I paid it since I needed to get on the road. Triple price for the service of coming to jump my car apparently. Strike 3- After an hour of driving, I stopped for gas and when I turned the car back on it started reving on its own. Scary. I found a parts store to check the voltage for me, which was fine but they couldn't figure out the rest of it. The reving eased off, so I finished my drive but didn't feel comfortable. Took it to an independent mechanic on the other end who said it was the throttle body, which should have been cleaned when they replaced the battery. So- no info on recalls, overpriced and incomplete repairs, and gerneral smarmyness from the service staff. I won't be going back.
