Don't ask for Karl, there isn't any. The presiding angel here is Steve Tierney, a living legend in these parts. Excellent body work at such amazingly low prices that it can be difficult to get in here. (Should I really post this review and make them even busier?) Steve's is the small shop right on the corner of 240th St. and Irwin Ave. Don't make the mistake of going into the place with the large lot next door. Your wallet will need medical attention if you do. How many people can say that they love their body man? I do. It is worth driving here from many miles away, they are that good! Oh yes, I didn't answer question #6 because I've never heard of this shop screwing anything up.

These guys were amazing. In a single day, they were able to fix a side mirror, a bent fender and a paint-gouged front bumper. The work was immaculate and cost $425. Yes, you read that right: $425. I even liked the guy. A nearby shop was a little different. After taking down more personal information than is normally needed to get a passport, a man came out with a notebook computer and looked at my car. He walked around it and started to tell me all the various parts that would have to come off the car, be repainted or replaced. And he was nasty about it. In the end, the hood would have to be repainted entirely, my bumper would have to come off, my door, which was not in any way affected by the damage, would have to come off and be repainted. "Otherwise the paint won't match. Not under fluorescent light." Ummm, yeah. We quickly got to $3,000 worth of work for two dents and three dings. Did I mention he was nasty? What more can you ask? Go Karl's!

I first met Steve and Freddy years ago when my old mechanic (had to move far away) recommended them. Sadly, Freddy isn't there anymore to do mechanical work. He needed more space for that, and is now doing other work altogether. A brilliant diagnostician! Wife drove to work one day with the parking brake on once, so it was soft when she got there, pedal to the floor to stop. Thought it was dead, unsafe. Parked and called me -- 8 hrs later! I ran over there, got car, felt OK. Called, he explained it was OK (it was -- just got hot, and had cooled off, no damage!), but sure, come on over, we'll wait for you. It was fine. HOWEVER, Steve will STILL help you out on mechanical questions with advice and direction where to go. If you need ANY kind of body work, no matter how small or large, STEVE IS THE MAN! You want it perfect, like new? OK. Here's what it'll cost. You want it fixed, safe, functional -- just good enough for you? Fine, let's get specific and not do any more than you want. Not interested in making money off you, so he's completely fair and will do what you can afford and deal with the insurance. He makes a good living already because people go to him with dedication. He's there for you -- and that means YOU! Guy must have an IQ of 190. A wonderful Irish heart the size of Dublin. (from a big family: himself, 4 brothers and a sister, all wonderful, truly decent people) I've talked to him about national and global politics, religion, cars, people who bump you a tad and try to make a bogus claim. He's seen it all and will calm you down with the reality. Insurance? He knows how to work with them. You won't get screwed. They respect him. Truly. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH STEVE!!! (Actually, his full name is Patrick Steven Tierney, but we call him Steve.) Got dented? Got smashed? Old rust-bucket? New Range Rover? He treats them all they same. It's your car, and he respects that. Man had 4 kids already, he and his wife wanted another (too much love for just the 4), they traveled to China to adopt a 5th! Where does he get the time and energy?? And he's there Saturdays till about 2, I think. He gets it done right. Once -- only once -- a replaced windshield had a slight drip. Drove back, he took it out, re-did it while I waited, never a problem again. I CANNOT RECOMMEND HIM MORE HIGHLY!!!!!!!!!!
