The Mechanics are very nice guys, the sign they have on their shop says it clearly, " DO NOT TOUCH OUR TOOLS, WE DO NOT TOUCH YOUR WIVES " MAKE SURE YOU PLAN AN APPOINTMENT DURING HUNTING SEASON. AND MAKE SURE TEDY GETS TO KNOW YOU, A HAND SHAKE OR A FEW MINUTES OF HUNTING TALK IS THE WAY TO MAKE A GOOD IMPRESION.

George was great. I got him to fix something that had been screwed up by another NYC mechanic. He got me in fast, carefully explained my problem (broken exhaust gasket), and fixed it cheap.

Unbelieveable. I found these guys in the Mechanics Files, and realized they are the guys my neighbors were raving about. At first I was upset that there is no address or phone number for them on this website. They are so good that I am not going to tell you how to get in touch with them either. That's how good they are. No, actually they are better than that.

These guys are awesome. I dealt with Teddy who was great! So honest! I went for a tune-up and a noise that I've been hearing coming from under the car. After looking at my car he only replaced the parts that were needed and told me my spark plugs and filter were in perfect shape so why change them. He tightened up a few things he noticed under the car and I left happy. Over the weekend I kept hearing the subtle rattling noise and went back on Monday. He took it for a test drive, found it on the breaks and fixed it for free!. After living in NYC for 10 years I finally found someone I can trust my Jeep with! They are also a couple of blocks away from the train if you need to leave your car with them while you work.

Teddy and George are a rare breed of auto mechanic. Not only honest, but sometimes to a fault. Teddy is a master mechanic on almost all makes and models, but I have noticed that T&H seems to specialize in older cars. Now with tough times, many of us are keeping our cars for longer periods of time, and if we are forced to buy, we are buying a used car. I have been going to this place for well over 15 years and have never had any problems with a repair. Their prices are either on par or below their competitors in the neighborhood and their timeliness in making repairs are not to be beat anywhere. Any time I have had a problem with a car, I am grateful to have them at my beckon call. As a woman I can tell you that they are respectful in dealing with me. They have never tried to BS me or over sell me on a repair that wasn't required for the safety of the vehicle. Whenever I think about retiring to another state, I find T&H on the top of my list of reasons not to go anywhere else. Having a mechanic who gives you big smile when you drive your car on the lot, and knowing that all will be okay, is worth it's weight in clean, embroidered uniforms anytime!

Teddy and his crew are amazing. They were recommended by some old timers in the neighborhood ("we all take our cars to Teddy" the guys at the local hardware store told me). There may not be a nice office or detailed printed receipts of the work done, but they will treat you fair, will not stick you with unneeded repairs, and your car will run. Like the other reviewer said, as a woman, I never felt taken advantage. I feel very lucky to have found them in my neighborhood.

I found these guys through the reviews at Car Talk. I completely agree. These guys a fantastic. I needed an O2 sensor replaced which I had checked myself. They verified my diagnosis themselves and checked to make sure there wasn't anything else. Then they send me to get my own, which is exactly what I wanted to do. Replaced it in seconds.
