The first time I visited this statation was (3) years ago. I waited my turn to speak with the owner (Mike). What took place before my eyes was all I needed to see. An elderly woman was explaining to (Mike), that while on vacation she was told (by a gas station expert), that she had a rusted and leaking brake wheel cylinder and it should be replace immeditatly. Mike crawled under the car, asked her to step on the brake, and asked her if the pedal felf firm. It was, and there was nothing leaking. Mike told her that all untreated metal under most cars has surface rust and there was nothing to worry about. Next he opened the hood, checked brake fluid level. Everything was perfect. He told her to relax and that everything was perfect. He treated her like a long lost friend and was truly happy there was nothing wrong. Some time later I found out that Mike was (Michael Civelli) world class engine builder. Has two engine shop on in Albq. NM & one in Santa Fe. A hot rodder by love and currently hold more vintage drag race records than anyone alive. We are fortunate to have one of the last (Real Service Stations) left in this country.

Mike and Ranger are both eminently capable machanics. Both explain to the customer in clearest terms what they believe to be wrong and give accurate estimates as to cost and time reqired for repair. I put my full trust in The Old Trail Garage and its representatives. On thing I would like to emphasise: NEVER do these people take advantage of a customer's ignorance. This applies especially to women.

I like these guys. This is still an old fashion family operation. No frills. Just good honest work.

SO disappointing!!! we had such high hopes, the mechanic had the car for FIVE days with out even working on it. would not call with status updates, even though we had reqeusted to have them call us. At first, he said it would be done in a day. But then five days later the car hadn't even moved! we kept calling and they said they were working on it but nothing! finally had to have the car towed ourselves and take it to someone who is competent and can communicate. SO disappointed, really wanted to find a nice, local shop that we could depend on but apparently he doesn't need the business. will never go here and will let our friends not to either. Bummed -
