I wanted to share my experience with Fred's. On our way to Ocean City for our week at the beach, my wife and I were in one car and my teenage sons were following behind (2 cars back). Unfortunately, in the stop and go traffic (at low speed) on the causeway, just 2 miles from the beach, my son rear ended a van that had a long protruding bike rack. The car in front with the rack was unscathed, but the bike rack harpooned our car and punctured the radiator and bent up the hood. I called around and no one would commit to doing the job in a week. That was until I stopped in at Fred's Auto. They agreed to adjust their schedule to get the job done before we left the beach (new hood, fans, radiator). We even picked the car up early. I was very impressed. This was not an insurance repair, and the price was very reasonable given the extent of the damage.

Had a sound of the starter going and you knew after a couple a times it was a starter. The sound was intermitant. Bought the starter and was gonna put it in then decided to pay someone else to put it in. Went there in Feb and said the starter is going put this in. They call back at the end of the day and say they couldn't hear the noise there is nothing wrong. The next five months went back four or 5 times telling them now i have to tap on it to get the truck started. They again say didn't hear it, then they said they heard it once but thats not enough to go on. That happened twice, the next time went back tell them im now having to tap it from above instead of the bottom. They still won't replace it say i would be wasting my money. The next time i go back they replace a relay fuse for 50.00. Now mind you they haven't charged me anything except the 50.00. Problem still happening. So I go to the dealer the other day and yeah its the starter, problem solved. Bottom line i should have went somewhere else after the first time, instead of keep going back there for six months wasteing both our time and money, my diagnosis was correct and the owner and the lead mechanic was wrong and or they couldn't figure it out and paid 50.00 for a fuse i didn't need. They seem nice but i wouldn't go back there. And get a second opinion when there is doubts.
