I almost hate to recommend Auto Specialists - because I don't want them to have more customers! Despite the fact that they are busy and maybe a touch more expensive than other garages, I absolutely will NOT take my car elsewhere. Dumb girl that I am, I have actually told them about extra work I thought my car needed. Most mechanics would jump at an opening like that, but these guys are scrupulously honest and will tell you "no" when you don't need the work done. And Randy is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. They are worth every penny I've ever spent with them.

When my wife's car began to have issues we were still new to the area. I checked for a reliable mechanic here and Auto Specialists came up. We took her car in and they diagnosed the problem immediately (after it had been "fixed" numerous times at another tire supply store). The staff is great and Randy always takes time to explain what is needed whether its me or my wife on the phone. Great guys & a great shop. Our cars will go no place else.

After the shop I previously did business with gave me a ridiculous list of problems to fix (boat payment come due?) on one occasion, I asked everyone I knew who they recommended. These guys kept popping up. I took my car in and came away with the problem fixed for one quarter of the cost of the first estimate. Thanks, Randy! I'm a customer for life!

Randy is the most honest mechanic I have meet. He has worked on my car, and never exceeded the cost that he quoted me. If something was found during the work being done, he would call and explain what was wrong and how much it would cost, and let me make the call on what to do. My wife brought her Chrysler in because it was running rough. After working on it for about 3 hours, he called her and told her to take it out on the interstate and drive it for about 50 miles and burn out the cobwebs, and did't charge her anything. I've never heard of any shop doing that. I always recommend his shop to everyone I talk to.

We looked around for a long time for somewhere to take our '91 Toyota Previa (Minivan). It is a wierd vehicle to work on and has many non-interchangable parts. We were resigned to go to one of our local Toyota dealers. My wife noticed the shop one day and since she was nearby, stopped in and asked if they work on Previas. They said that they have a guy who knows everything you need to know about Previas and to bring it in anytime we needed. 2 times they have come to our rescue with quality work at a fair price. Once they even saved us 200 dollars on a power harness by stripping the old one out and making a new one out of it. Outstanding! We will not go anywhere else!

I will not go into the place I used to frequent, but these guys have literally saved me thousands of dollars on repairs for my 1996 Toyota Corolla. The place I used to take my car said I needed new brakes. The folks at Auto Specialists did a diagnostic check on my car and found out those brakes still had more than 70 percent of their original material. As a result, I was able to keep those brakes for another full year and spare myself a costly, unnecessary repair. Unlike other mechanics, where you go in for an oil change and leave with a $500 repair bill, the gang at Auto Specialists do all they to ensure that if you come in for an oil change, you will leave with an oil change. When they spot something, they are thorough and competent - and will do all they can to give you the lowest price, yet still maintain their high quality standards. I will never go to another mechanic as long as I live in Omaha.

These guys are the best! There is hardly any turnover in Randy's team. I've been a customer for years, and the same experienced crew is always on the job. They take pride in their work, and get additional training to keep up with changing technology. They have always handled my service or repair correctly the first time, and the price of the repair has always been fair. It's a great pleasure not to have to return to get something re-fixed. In the years I've been a customer, I've never heard Randy talk about owning a boat . . . maybe that's why he's fair.

I went to this shop with my 1997 Coroola after seeing the shop listed on this site. They were helpful and scheduled my timing belt replacement at a convenient time for me. The bill came in under their estimate and they completed the work when they said thay would.

These guys have actually told us we don't need any work done - i.e., have topped off the transmission fluid and said that's all we needed! They are extremely honest.

This is a very well-kept independent shop with about 4-5 auto bays and a staff of at least 5 men. There always appear to be a slew of cars waiting for repair in the spacious parking lot, but they always deliver the work on time. This is a very prefessional operation! You can have complete confidence that you will be treated fairly here.
