My Pathfinder has always has matching tires, same brand, model, everything matched as far as tires and it has always had the maintenance sched followed religously... at 169,000 miles 2 of the 4 Dunlop Rover a/t's had to be replaced due to non-repairable punctures in sidewall.... The Sears Auto Center that i bought the set of 4 Dunlops from is where I took it the day of the flat and after i threw spare on the one tire that was flat at the time... The kid who waited on me told me he could not get 2 of the matching Dunlops as the replacements because they no longer carried the brand.... So, I immediately asked to speak to the manager; bad choice because he was a jerk (although not a professional word its soothing because he ruined my transmission!) for refusing to replace all four tires at the prorated amount since they could not attain matching replacements. He even called me a fool when i told him I wasnt comfortable with having to put a pair of brand new tires on my truck with 16/32" tread when remaining Dunlops only had 7/32" tread remaining and that i would pay out of pocket to buy matching BFG Rugged Terrains to replace the remaining 2 dunlops...Of course the BFG Rugged Terrains were the "only 31x10.50x15 tires Sears has in their posession" and just so happend to be the most expensive tire they carried in that size! SO, he told me my 2 choices were to let him install the 2 BFG's for $189.00 each or i could take my vehicle elsewhere. Even though i had the Sears Road Hazard Protection Agreement he would not do anyhting but the two diff brand tires.... BS. So I argued with him for several minutes and then he just walked away.... About 2 hours later he calls me on my cell and tells me to come on in and that my truck was ready to go. I told him that he needed to check my vehicle MFG's tire changing recommendations to make sure what he did was within MFG guidelines... He said that everything checked out. I was heated up still but wasnt going to argue anymore because Sears was definately no longer the company I trusted for their loyality to their customers. I had not questioned him in my mind as to what info he pulled up for my vehicle through Nissan because Sears is an authorized tire dealer for over a dozen tire brands nationwide.... QUestion 1: In your professional experience in this industry, is it unreasonable for a customer who goes to an authorized tire dealer for replacement of a tire or two on a 4x4 to be grossly neglected by receiving a recommendation to put mixed tires on a 4x4 vehicle(consider mileage on truck, tread depth difference, pattern difference, rolling circumference difference)? As a tire dealer/repair facility did they, in my opinion, fulfill their duty to me as a customer & did they make all authorized repairs in a workmanlike manner according to industry standards and skills for such repairs in the trade (safety and standards practices without causing unnecessary and expensive damages)? NO! Question 3: If I told you the Automatic Transmission on the Pathfinder went out within 4,000-5,000 miles from the time at which Sears installed the mixed replacement tires, would to agree that Sears was negligent in the tire replacements and responsible for the damages (cost to replace transmission and the 2 matching BFG's required to replace the 2 remaining Dunlops)? HARD TO BELIEVE THEY WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS WITH THE REPUTATION MOST CONSIDER VERY GOOD, BUT YES, THEY RUINED MY TRANSMISSION; WORSE, THEY DIDNT EVEN APPOLOGIZE OR OFFER ANY COMPENSATION, JUST SENT ME OFF TO SEDGWICK CMS INSURANC OR CLAIMS MANAGEMNET COMPANY AND LET THEM IGNORE MY CALLS FOR 5 MONTHS AND THEN THEY SENT ME A DENIAL LETTER TELLING ME REASON FOR NON PAYMENT WAS THEY NEVER RECEIVED ANY DOCUMENTATIONFOR THE CLAIM.... BUT I EVEN HAVE THE CLAIMS MANAGER RECORDED TELLING ME SHE GOT A FEW OF THE DOCUMENTS I FAXED 3-4 DIFFERENT TIMES FROM 2 DIFFERENT FAX MACHINES AND ONE THROUGH A FREE INTERNET FAXING SERVICE... BUT THE ONES SHE GOT OUT OF 17 PAGES WERE RANDOM PAGE NUMBERS, NOT IN ANY ORDER (1,2, + 3).. I TOLD SEARS THAT I HADNT BEEN ABLE TO CONTACT SEDGWICK EVER SINC CLAIM WAS FILED BY SEARS (5 1/2 MONTHS ) AND THAT I LEFT OVER A DOZEN VOICEMAILS AND ONLY ONE RETURN CALL BUT NEVER LEFT A MESSAGE OR EVER CALLED AGAIN NEXT DAY OR WEEK... JUST SENT DENIAL LETTER INSTEAD! I PROMISE YOU ALL THAT THIS IS NOT JUST A FLUKE EITHER BECAUSE THE WHOLE REASON I EVER GOT TIRES FOR THE TRUCK TO BEGIN WITH IS CUZ IT PULLED TO LEFT HARD AFTER A SIMPLE ALIGNMENT I ORIGINALLY WENT THERE FOR AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS CUZ 3 OF MY TIRES WERE BAD AND NEEDED REPLACEMENTS... I BOUGHT THEM FROM SEARS AND THEY PUT THEM ON BUT STILL PULLED.... THEN THEY SAID IT WAS CUZ I NEEDED TO HAVE A FULL MATCHING SET AND THEN IT WOULDNT PULL, SO I PAID THEM FOR THE FOURTH AND IT STILL PULLED AFTE 2 MONTHS AND 3 MORE ALIGNMENTS.... SO THEY PUT IT ON THE LIFT AND MYSTERIOUSLY DETERMINED THE THE REAR STRUTS WER SHOT BEYOND BELIEF AND THAT THE RIGHT FRONT TIE ROD WAS SHOT AND CAUSING TRUCK TO PULL TO THE LEFT AS A RESULT.... AND THIS SAME DARN THING HAPPENED WITH MY SATURN LWI IN DECEMBER 2011 WHEN I WENT FOR ALIGNMENT AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDNT DO IT UNTIL I HAD THE SWATBAR LINKS REPLACED FOR $300 AND THEY LIED TO ME ABOUT THEM CUZ I TOLD THEM MYSELF AND WIFE AND KIDS WERE DRIVING TO VT FOR XMAS THAT NEXT MORNING AT 4AM.... SO THEY NEW I WOULDNT JEOPARDISE MY FAMILYS LIVES AND THEY NEW I HAD MONEY BECAUSE THE REMEMBERED ME FROM MY TRUCK AND THEY LIED ABOUT THE TIRES AND MADE AN EXTRA $900 SALE WITHOUT ME EVER KNOWING.... SO THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME AGAIN AND COMMITTED FRAUD ONCE AGAIN... how do i know? i took the sway-bar links back to the dealer and had three different technicians and 2 managers (service and parts)check the ones sears took out and said were too worn and far too dangerous for them to leave in and a huge liability to even touch the vehicle w/o replacing them first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ac recharge or transmission flush and sears tells them they are going to die in their vehicles within 2 months if they dont fix a list of suspension and steering parts that Sears said were dangerously worn out... BOTTOM LINE IS DO NOT GO TO SEARS AUTO CENTER, PLEASE! THEY ARE NOT THE COMPANY THEY USED TO BE, CORPERATE HAS RUN THEM IN THE GROUND OUT OF GREED AND DESPERATION..... I HAVENT HAD WORK SINCE MY PATHFINDER BROKE DOWN BUT IM NOT GOING AROUND GIVING CHEAP ESTIMATES TO PAINT A BEDROOM AND THEN JACKING UP THE PRICE BY TELLING THEM THEY HAVE MOLD SPORES IN THE SHEETROCK AND THEY HAVE TO HIRE ME TO TARE IT ALL OUT AND HANG NEW SHEETROCK AND THEN PAINT WALLS TRIM CEILINGS AND DOORS! LEARN THE LESSON FROM ME AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, A SMALLER PRIVATE BUSINESS OR MIDAS OR SOMETHING, OR QUIT DRIVING AND TAKE THE BUS!! LOL GO TO BBB.COM AND LOOK AT ALL SEARS ROEBUCKS COMPLAINTS AND THEN THE # THAT ARE RESOLVED AND THOSE THAT ARENT...... YOU;LL SEE FOR YOUR SELF GOOD LUCK
