I have used this company for the repair of my vehicle for nearly three years. When my about-to-be-16-year-old daughter bought a used vehicle, they gave it the once over at no charge. They also itemized and prioritized a list of repairs the car might need over the next year -- including an estimate of the cost, how urgent the repair was, and how long she might be able to wait before the situation caused her problems. But what impressed me most was their creative problem-solving regarding the immediate repairs. For example: they anchored a loose bumper instead of replacing it -- at a cost of about $15 instead of who-knows-how-much! They physically straightened a bent tail pipe, again, instead of replacing it -- an option which would have cost her much more. These guys are fair, reliable and really help you out in a pinch. They're the best mechanics we've found around here.

This shop is the shop I've always dreamed of. I knew it was out there somewhere. When I first moved to Raleigh it was very close to my job; now I work in Chapel Hill but still take my car there for everything -- I would rather rent a car every time I need service than take my car anywhere else. I have taken a 78 Lincoln, 88 Taurus, and now my 96 Sable to them and they have taken great care of all of them. And I trust them 100% not to rip me off. I know hardly anything about cars and they know that, and they could have made, yes, many boat payments off that Lincoln alone, but often they've told me, "Oh, that noise is just x-and-such, that's nothing you need to worry about." In fact, when my Lincoln was turning into a death-trap, Bob told me in no uncertain terms that he would not fix it again. No more repairs. He wanted no part of it. I had no choice but to get rid of it! And he begged me to get rid of my Taurus before the transmission went -- but would I listen? Go to Rose Auto Service, and do exactly what they tell you!

The shop was sold to Supreme Auto Service, another local business in 2005, but Bob and his brothers are still there. Bob Rose is outstanding in his knowledge and integrity. He takes the time to explain work that needs to be done. I had problems with the check engine light on my Taurus in 2006. After a year the problem reoccured. Bob recognized that the sensor he installed was faulty and replaced it for labor only with absolutely no hassle.

They did all of the work on my 1989 Ford Taurus (215,000), still care for my 2003 Subaru Forester (156,000), and I'll bring my 2011 Toyota RAV4 to them when I no longer get free service. It's not in a great part of town, but the cars are locked up overnight. I haven't had any issues with vandalism.

They found and fixed stuff I didn't know was wrong... no charge! These guys are good and honest. Last I heard, they only work on American car

I knew I had made the right choice with Rose and Sons when I saw police cars getting serviced there! They always made great repairs and explained everything that they were doing. They aren't the fastest shop in the world as their services are in such high demand but repairs were always completed within a day. Their prices are completely reasonable. they even did a couple minor repairs for free!
