Chris is in the business of customer relations and working on the cars he loves. I am living in DC and still bringing my car to him!! His diagnosis and repairs are excellent and will work with you (new vs. used parts and recommendations). His quotes are always minimized by not doing scattergun approaches to fixes by replacing everything under the hood for the one real broken part. He is extremely courteous and talkative! So far I've been to 4 mechanics here in DC (2 recommended by this site, oops) that dont even stack up. Chris will soon be repairing the fan relay (pennies) which I was just quoted $580 by another mech here to replace the control module ($$$!!) and relay. Its worth the drive!

Just to add, he also works on AUDI...

Chris knows his cars and he couldn't be nicer to deal with- - his staff is great too. He has been honest and straightforward with info and pricing. He gave me good advice about warranties etc and saved me hundreds of dollars. He also drives a VW and clearly loves his work.

I've taken my 89 Jetta to Chris for some years now and it's always been repaired quickly and with NO hassles. Chris does like to carry on a conversation, but that's his personality. Outstanding in his field!!

Chris is a knowlegeable Volkswagon mechanic who is honest and does not overcharge for his work. He is always courteous and polite to deal with. Because he is a one man (or possibly two man operation now), sometimes he gets backed up and can't always get to your job immediately. His shop does not have all the plush surroundings and conveniences of a dealership. If you are ok with this, you can keep your car running, at a fair cost. I would highly recommend Chris to work on your VW.
