I found Tim by a referral - I approached a couple in the parking lot of a grocery store because they were driving a 1990 Isuzu Trooper II just like mine. I asked who worked on their vehicle and were they satisfied. They recommended Tim highly and said he specialized in Troopers. I called & talked to him & was impressed with his honesty. I found others who recommended him, took the Trooper to him & was amazed at the quality of the repairs and reasonable price. I then asked if he would consider looking at my 1972 Super Beetle. Again, he not only did all that was asked but he went above and beyond. Both vehicles run better than they have in years and the charges were very reasonable. I have already asked if he will work on my 1998 Mercedes ML320 when necessary. I also hope he will consider working on my 2004 Ford Focus! I guess you could say I love cars but do not attempt my own repairs. In my book, Tim Small is a hero mechanic!! He provides a careful diagnosis of the problem, keeps me informed as to him progress and the charges, he never makes a repair without consulting me and lets me know of any delays. He is fair and takes great pride in getting the job done correctly the first time. I am proud to recommend him. Both the Beetle & the Trooper were using too much gas and running rough. The Trooper was overheating. The Beetle was actually unable to run by the time I had it taken by flatbed to Tim. Both are once again a pleasure to drive!

Tim Small Automotive is the most reliable and honest shop I have encountered in my 68 years. He has worked on my Dodge Truck, Buick, Mustang and LeBaron. This is a shop where you get to talk with the man who does the repairs and he always recommends that he do a test drive, before and after. Tim also tries to save you a buck by sourcing parts as economically as possible.

Tim is a wonderful mechanic. He goes out of his way to help his customers and will work hard to find the most affordable way to get a car working correctly. I bought my car from him and the check engine light came on a few weeks later due to a bad O2 sensor and he fixed it for free because he stands behind his work.

I have been a Tim Small Automotive customer since 1998 +/- range. We have four drivers in our family (2 college-aged). ANY vehicle I have that is not under factory warranty goes to Tim for reviews and advice and mechanical work. They have kept my vehicles in good running condition and their prices are very reasonable for the type of work needing to be done. One of our family fleet vehicles is a 1996 Ford Bronco (the big one) that has 208k miles on it. Tim and Danny have done me well and right on "all accounts" when I need work done. Other cars they have worked on for me: 1996 Ford Crown Vic; 2001 Hyundai Elantra, 2001 Ford F150, 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis, 1987 Ford Bronco II, and beyond that, I send neighborhood friends and folks to them. They are great folks, work hard for their labor, save folks money, and they are an asset to the community of Jamestown, NC.

This is the most reliable mechanic and shop I have ever worked with. I have been taking my cars/vans to Tim Small Automotive since 2002. I have been 100% satisfied every time. They tell you if something needs to be repaired, could be repaired or even based upon the age of the car, maybe not worth repairing. Typically, most repairs are done on the same day and I never have I have to take a car back after a repair because the problem was not resolved. Done right the first time. They are very reasonably priced and both Tim and Danny are great mechanics. I recommend Tim Small Automotive without any reservation. They are the best.

My wife and I have been using Tim Small's Automotive for about 15 years. He has worked on all of our cars and rebuilt our trucks engine. Last week I stopped by Meineke in Jamestown,NC because my engine was smoking. I was told my engine needed to be rebuilt to the tune of $1795.25. I then took my car to Tim's Automotive where he explained the head gasket needed to be repaired. He replaced the cracked head gasket and changed the oil for under $200.00.Now who would you trust your car or truck with? I know who I will continue to trust with mine. Tim Small's Automotive that's who!!Thanks Tim and Karen

Tim Small has maintained my cars for many years (decades) and kept them running safely. Tim will diagnose the problem, communicate what needs to be done and do only the work necessary and authorized, and at a fair price. He will tell you if something does not need to be done and will not pad the repairs like some service writers at dig dealerships. It is wonderful to have an auto mechanic you can trust, which is why I keep coming back!

We have been bringing our vehicles to Tim's shop for almost 2 years now. Although there are plenty of shops that are closer we make the drive to Jamestown with pleasure. Tim has worked on a Saturn, a Toyota and a Pontiac for us and he and his wife have been great to deal with. Tim always does his best to work with our schedule and always has time to answer any questions we have about the work he has done. I know I will be getting an honest appraisal of what needs to be done to our cars and I know the work will be done well. I have no hesitation recommending Tim Small Automotive to anyone...it is WELL worth the drive.
