Anyone who does buisness at forest hills service center will return again as needed.Jamie Loyd is a first rate mechanic and all around great guy. Above all you just know (when you meet him) that your search for an excellent/competent and HONEST mechanic is over. Tim

Jamie and anyone he's recommended are first rate and generally concerned about customer satisfaction and attention to detail. The most "fun" repair experience was finding a guy "recommended by FH" to repair some accidental damage to my daughter's honda civic. What made it fun was that no replacement parts, used new or otherwise were used in the repair. The existing parts were bent, hammered and welded satisfactorily for a grad student's use. I had taken it to a collision place for an estimate and heard: "we'll have to order a new one of those, we can find a salvaged fender...etc." In short, repaired by replacement ... that is not the same as actually fixed and it costs ten times as much! It was great to find someone who actually did repait work instead of substitution work.

I had a great experience at Forest Hills Service Center. The price was absolutely reasonable (I would even say low), the work was done quickly and with no appointment, they explained the work to me clearly, and I have had no problems since the repair. I just found my new favorite mechanic!

Jamie was amazing! I was in total despair because I thought that my starter went kaputz..took my car to Forest Hills and discovered within a couple hours (no appointment needed) that it was something very small. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, as a woman, I was treated with the utmost respect(this has not been my experience with past mechanics). Jamie thoroughly explained exactly what the problem was and how he fixed it. This shop is great and I highly recommend it to anyone in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area.

I went to Car Talk's Mechanics files after several miserable experiences with my dealer. I was amazed by all the fantastic reviews written about Jamie Lloyd's Forest Hills Service Center, so I decided to give them a try. WOW! I was treated like a rational, competent, human being who just happened to not know very much about how cars work. I've been back several times since and the service is always efficient and extremely friendly. I recommend this mechanic to everyone!

This just shows that even the most respected places can have problems. Jamie is a good man, and several times did very competent work for me. However, on one occasion he had hired a mechanic with some problem personal issues. The fellow took a long time to get to my vehicle, he was rude when asked about it, and did such a reckless test drive that he turned over several boxes in the back of my Plymouth Voyager. As far as I know, he no longer works there. Jamie clearly knew he had a problem fellow on his hands but didn't deal with it well and neither did I. Still, I think that Jamie is one of your better, more honest local independent garage operators.
