The owner Allan Trantham told me about a Ford recall program that gave me a FREE engine on my '95 Windstar rather than taking the business to repair the engine - plus he apologizes when he has to charge more than he originally thought or if some delay happens getting part. He often does little things for free!!!!

We ended up at Domestic Auto with a broken fuel pump while driving through the mountains on the way back home to the Piedmont. We couldn't have been luckier! Domestic Auto is a repair shop and the local AAA tow company. They were incredibly helpful and considerate. We pulled in late in the afternoon and they took a look at our truck immediately while we waited at the service desk waiting room area (with our pup, who they let come in, too.) They priced parts from different parts stores and let us choose the best option for us. When we learned that the parts wouldn't arrive until the morning, they drove us to a local motel and picked us up the next morning. The work was done as quickly as possible--though it's a pretty time consuming job--and the price was very fair (we checked with a friend who's got years experience in the auto industry.) We were out of towners, so they had no incentive to treat us so well or go out of their way to find us the best price, but they sure did. Over the couple of hours we spent in the service desk waiting room area, we overhead lots of entertaining phone calls and conversations, many of which were with the owner of the shop--who my husband and I call "the mythical Alan Trantham" since we never saw him--because he's not just the owner, but was out doing the work, too! Our only problem now is figuring out how on earth we can make the three hour drive to get our cars serviced at our new favorite mechanic's shop!
