The first time I went into Phil's, it was to get my oil changed. It was raining and I mentioned to him that I would be back in a bit because I had to run some errands. Boone is not a huge town so it wouldn't have taken me all that long, but, without knowing me more than 5 minutes, he lent me his van to go run my errands. From then on my car was his. He has a couple of guys working for him who are also top knotch fellas. I don't take my car anywhere else for service.

Phil always has a smile for you. His work and his mechanics are top notch. It may take some time to get to your vehicle but they do it right. Thanks!

Phil has been my mechanic for 7 years. I know I can trust him and his help to do a competent job. He is very fair with his pricing and explains what the parts cost and the labor. I recommend Phil and his crew to anyone.

Phil is a super nice guy and will work around your schedule. He'll help you out anyway he can. He's worked on both of my cars and always does a great job at a very resonable price.

When I first moved to Boone, I took my Subaru to Phil on a recommendation. It was spewing noxious smoke and not a single mechanic in the town that I had moved from could tell me why. One mechanic even replaced a part that wasn't broken! After actually letting me (a female) show them in the engine where the badness was going down, Phil took my car, fixed it and something else for $25 and had it back to me the next day. Now, I find myself being the person recommending Phil's to everyone I know with car problems!

Phil is great! I take my 84 Subaru Wagon to him anytime it breaks. Twice he has fixed my subaru when I thought it was dead and he did a very good job. Also, I must add that the work was done at a very reasonable price and I haven't had any problems with the work after it was done. I also let him change my oil and his shop gave me a referral to a good body shop in the area when my mother had an accident. The staff there is friendly and knowledgable. I have used other good mechanics in other places where I have lived but none have provided the combination of excellent service, excellent repairs and also very reasonable prices. Phil's shop is awesome if you need a repair on your car!

I was in North Carolina to visit family and was spending my last day going to Boone to pick up my step-son. My driver's side low beam on my 2003 Toyota Matrix had gone out two days ago, and I had not found the problem. I went to your web site and found a good local mechanic who was in Boone and called. He said that he would fit me in. I arrived and after watching him hammer on a rear brake drum to free it from the axle, he listened to my problem. Checked the connector to the bulb that showed heat damage. Directed me to the local Toyota dealer for a new connector. I asked how much and he said. . .. . "no charge". Thanks for the mechanic guide feature of your site. You guys are the best.. . . .jimbo

I've taken several different vehicles to these guys for either repair or maintenance. Every time they've made sure to get the problem explained and give me a pretty good estimate on what it will cost. They get the job done quick, usually the same day. Minor stuff they will usually get done in an hour or less. They're all friendly too, and in walking distance of downtown.

I have used Phil's Citgo mechanics for over 10 years. They are always honest and will fix your car for a fraction of the price of a dealership. Also, the BEST place to buy tires!
