It's like being related to the mechanic. If they can fix something easy & quick, they won't charge you much or at all. I discovered this when trying to change a headlight. Another mechanic was ready to take apart the front end of my car to change a headlight! I went over to JAMCO & they tapped it loose & it came right off. No charge. No hassel. And they didn't even laugh at me. They also have great resources all over the city. You can ask them where to take a different type of car, where to buy a new car, or even where to get tuckpointing done on your house! They know it all.

People who have left St. Louis call and ask if what they are being told by mechanics in their new location is right. People advertise their used car for sale as having benn maintained by JAMCO. JAMCO is honest, helpful, will work to keep repair cost down and quality up.

I had my corolla towed there once because it had died. It was out of warranty, and I figured something was REALLy wrong. They called and said that they had it towed to a dealer after looking at it, they realized it was a part that was on a recall notice. The charge-nothing. I was SHOCKED and quite pleased.

They are as good as everyone says. I love when I have a friend with a troubled Honda or Toyota AND I really know what to tell them. Go to JAMCO.

JAMCO is one of the few automotive-related businesses where a lone woman can receive (and trust) the information she is given regarding car service and/or repair. JAMCO is honest almost to a fault; they tell you the truth no matter what. I have never dectected any price gouging or inflation due to the fact that I am a female customer. JAMCO performs routine maintenance on my late-model Toyota Corolla and my husband's 2000 Honda Civic. Previously they had replaced a transmission in an older Toyota, and, some years later when that vehicle was no longer worth the cost of repair (it was a verrry old Toyota) they told me so...not welcome news, but never-the-less, an honest appraisal of the car's condition.

They're honest! Twice this year I've brought my 89 honda there (once it was towed/once jumpstarted) and they could have charged me a lot to fix it. Both times, they made suggestions and fixed the problem in two minutes for free (adjusted the clutch for nothing -- it was WAY out and it's old, so I would have believed I needed a new one. The other time, the key wouldn't turn and they could have sold me a new ignition switch. Instead, they told me to try a new key - and that worked. My friend has similar stories. They're great. The ONLY problem I've ever had with them: They referred me to an honest H/C place -- but to a creepy tires place.
