The mechanics that run this place--a father and son team-- are scrupulously honest and will not sell you something you don't need. This is most always a good thing. Sometimes, however, their goodwill seems to get them heavily overcommitted, which means sometimes it takes longer to get your car back than you'd like. And unless you're willing to say very clearly, "I want you to take care of the problem totally and completely," their unwillingness to make you pay through the nose sometimes leads them to make the pragmatic repair rather than the most complete one. Nevertheless, I trust them completely with my car, and am very happy with the work they've done.

As a single female I feel I can trust them and the owner went out of his way to help me with a secondary vehicle which I couldn't move out of my driveway. I don't worry that they do unnecessary work and their rates seem reasonable. I trust them.

We were on our way to a vacation adventure when a serious drivetrain issue occurred. We went to AAMCO who told us it was an engine misfire and referred us to Privitt. Privitt went to heroic lengths to correctly diagnose the problem as a transfer case failure, drove through the night to obtain a replacement part, and got us back on the road the next day. We are forever grateful to them for saving our family vacation. We also realize that this probably meant that someone else had to wait an extra day to get their car back (see other review) but this is a testament to their character; they are genuinely good people who want to do good work and help people.
