Joe Hood's Services has been my family's automotive mechanic for at least 15 years. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who needs a good mechanic. I believe that he and his staff are completely honest and much more than competent. There may have been times when I have had to take one of our cars back to Joe for a second repair, but this has been only when the problem was one that was difficult to isolate, and Joe would attempt the least expensive course of treatment first. I am the only driver in our family now, as my wife can no longer drive, and it is sometimes inconvenient getting a vehicle to Joe for services, as his shop is about 8 miles from our house. Still, it's well worth the effort in my opinion.

A man by the name of Joe Hood owns and operates the business. Over the years he has had from 2 to 4 service men working for him. His shop is not in a fancy building, but it is well maintained. We have used their services for over 25 years. We have two cars which he services and while our two daughters lived with us their cars as well. Our daughters refer to him as Dr. Joe Hood because he always makes sick cars well. About the only work that we have had done by anyone else is that which was under a new car warranty. They will not fix something if there is nothing wrong. I have recommended his shop to friends and they too have been well pleased.

I have nothing but good to report on Hood's Automotive. I have been taking cars to them for over 25 years. Those included a 69 Oldsmobile 88 with 200,000 miles, 2 different 1984 Cutlass Supremes, 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 185,000 plus miles, (Which we still have and take to Hoods) 1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that I purchased new and just sold in excellent condition about a year ago with 260,000 miles on it. A 1991 Ford Ranger with 165,000 miles, also in excellent running condition, traded in about 9 months ago.

I have been taking all my cars here for years, from a newer Shelby GT500 'Stang to my old old vehicles, and would rarely have a reason to go elsewhere (maybe warranty service). My family members have always been treated like friends, no repair has ever been performed that was not absolutely needed, and repairs are almost always done in one visit. Joe has always bent over backwards to be helpful, is as honest as the day is old, and will even finish repairs that I start and make a mess of!
