All the mechanics at OHV are honest, personable and helpful. They really listen to your description of the problem. They will tell you when the work can wait awhile and when it should be done right away. Usually they offer several options for the repair or parts. I highly recommend this shop.

The mechanics at OHV always looks out for the best interest of the customer (and the car). They advise customers when they should see a dealer for warranty work; they fix only what needs to be fixed; they are very good at diagnosing problems. For example, Mike noticed a costly problem with my car(I can't remember the problem), and he sent me directly to the dealer with instructions on what exactly needed to be done. At this time I had only 150 miles left before my new car warranty expired. I saved a significant amount of money by taking my mechanic's advice. I now own a Saab. It's a nice car, but OHV mechanics only work on Hondas and Acuras. I may by another Honda to get my old mechanic back!

Hats off to the excellent people out there at OHV. They are honest and excellent at their work and if you value integrity you would go only there .But the only sad part is that they repair only Acuras and Hondas. I had been told by 2 major mechanic shops that I would have 2 replace the CV boots and also the Front and Rear brake discs and also the Rear rotor for my Acura Integra. They even quoted around 650 bucks for that. Luckily I came to know of these people and took an appointment. The minute you walk in you feel you have come to the right place and they are very friendly and try to understand the problems. Later I was called up and told that I need not do any repairs and my brakes could go another 5000 miles and no problems with my CV too !! I was shocked to hear such honest words and walked out a happy man and determined to come back here again !! Mike and Chris who run the show need special mention!!

These guys are great - the only problem is that they only work on Hondas and Acuras! When I had my 93 Civic I always went to these guys (on the rare occasion somthing went wrong with it). My car was never in the shop for more than 1 day (even for a timing belt replacement), and the work has been done correctly every time I've gone there. They will tell you what is wrong and then give you a few options. If you press them, they'll tell you what they recommend - but the important thing is that they let you choose how you want it done. I once went in and asked them to look at a CV joint with a torn boot (the car was in for other maintenance, but I'd noticed it while changing the oil). I had asked them to replace it, but they called me and said that I didn't need to replace it until it started clicking. Most shops would have just replaced it because 1) it was torn and 2) I had requested it. I appreciated their honesty.

I always feel that I getting an honest repair and report on my car. They give you a list of things that need/can be done and how long you could wait until you need to do repairs.

I found these guys on the car talk site, and after 4 service visits for two cars over almost 4 years I have NOT been dissappointed. I agree with the other reviewers, these guys are honest, clear, helpful, honest, devoted to the brands they service, honest... did I mention honest? I take my hondas to nearby chain shops for oil changes and once tires. The chain shops ALWAYS try to upsell me. Most recently it was the coolant system in my van "absolutely terrible - need coolant service - flush and refill" - from a major retailer that has auto-shops at their mall locations. So I scheduled time with OHV since I prefer they do everything beyond an oil change (I'd do oil changes there but they are not close enough to my house to make it convenient). I basically said as long as you think the coolant should be changed, service it without needing to call me. For any dishonest mechanic that is a license to do it regardless. These guys called me up to say it looked just fine and that no coolant work needed. They always describe in detail the state of my vehicle (condition of tires, brakes, engine systems). They advise of future service, and most important help me sort of options for spreading out/prioritizing my service costs. This is very helpful as I can clearly budget around what is needed and when. The first time I brought my 1996 Accord in with roughly 100K miles, I stated my goal was to drive it for another 100K. Mike quickly stated that I should expand my goals - the car should be able to last even longer and they'd love to help make it so. They had a board at the time that listed the results of their long-running contest to track which of their customers had the most miles on the original/factory clutches. I've actually thought of putting up with the drive to their shop for oil changes just because they are so top-notch.

They know their Hondas. I was having a miserable experience with another shop much closer to my workplace-- although convenienct they overcharged as much as $400 on one job (I found out later). I now take my vehicle almost 45 minutes out of my way for OHV to service it. I haven't regretted the drive yet, they've saved me a lot of money. I agree with the other reviewer, they will tell you if you don't need something done. Unlike my cashflow-driven earlier mechanic.

They're so good that I drive way our of my way, sit and wait for my car to be finished because they are not on a bus line I can easily access--very inconvenient for me-- but they are worth it. Michael is a gem among gems.

This shop is great; my family and I have been bringing in our 93 Acura Legend since we got it, and these guys have not only had fun getting to know our car, but us. They're always honest and, like others have said, list the things that could be fixed in order of priority. They are in the game with us to try to keep our cars running as smoothly as possible for as long as possible, and in our case, we're winning! Just last week I had someone in my Acura who guessed that it was an 03... our car has definitly won the "10 Years Younger" contest!

I bought a Mazda & Subaru after my Acura, not realizing that OHV wouldn't work on anything but a Honda or Acura. Now I am planning on getting back into a Honda/Acura. Only thing holding me back is i want a smaller sedan with all wheel drive. I would prefer OHV to maintain/repair my vehicle more so than a good dealer.
