I had a '91 police package Caprice with a failing hood release cable. I took it to Union 76 because I could walk to my office after I dropped the car off. They "fixed" the cable for over a hundred dollars. It worked fine once, and then failed again, leaving me locked out of my engine compartment. I took it back to them, they fixed it again, and charged me over a hundred dollars AGAIN! They said it wasn't their fault, that it was a problem with my car. Well, why didn't they fix *that* problem, then, instead of replacing my hood release cable for $110 a pop? Also, though I suppose this is hearsay, a co-worker of mine always insists on taking her mid-90's Ford Taurus to Union 76 (also because of its proximity to our office), and even though it's a Ford which makes it suspect in my eyes, she's had a lot more repairs done on that car than I'd normally expect, all based on things the mechanics have "spotted" during oil changes.
