I have been taking my '88 Subaru (160,000 miles) to Lake Region Imports for the car's entire life. I have been treated with respect and as if I know something about cars ( alas I do not)...however, my friends do and they agree that I not only have been given fair treatent, but exceptional treatment...in fact, because I am a loyal patron, there have been several time that they do extra things without charge. I believe I always get the highest quality service at the best price. I have also been known to drop off the car for "emergency" service - ie. unannounced - and they always work on it before my work day is done. I highly recommend Lake Region Imports.

We have,as a family, owned 3 Subarus all purchased and serviced through Lake region. I can not speak highly enough of all the staff! I amin the exact spot as the first response. They have often given us free parts/or labor, and always a deal! We just bought another car from them a few days ago, after my beloved 1997 Outback (235,345 miles) needed a large repairand we decided to let it go. Everyone there was very upfront about all our options, and ended up giving us a fabulous deal on our new car. I will never shop or service my Subaru anyplace else. Bravo Lake Region!!

I started out looking for a reliable mechanic in the Portland area that specialized in Subaru repair. I was delighted to find one so close to my house, until I started taking my car there. It had developed a mysterious computer chip malfunction that the shop kept diagnosing as my spark plugs not seating properly. My complaint was that they put the spark plugs in and then charged me three times because one of there mechanics had not seated them properly. Then, they changed an alternator belt and never informed me that I needed to return to have it tightened, so I was panicked when my car started to squeal everytime I hit the gas (luckily I found another garage to tighten this). To top it all off they "disocovered a radiator leak that would cost me $179 to repair because they had to drop the manifold to reach it". At this point I was through with them andI took my car to another mechanic, who (surprise) found no leak. That was over 9 months ago and my radiator hasn't leaked a drop. I would never return to them.

We bought a used Subaru from them, 1992 with 132k miles and have been very happy with it.

I have been a customer for more than 10 years and have bought 2 cars from them. They have always been helpful, honest, fun to work with, have great senses of humor, and fair pricing. They have absorbed costs when they felt I was being overcharged for a part. I recommend them to everyone who is looking for either a mechanic or a car or both. They are really fabulous.
