Yankee Ford is convenient to me in Portland, so I've used them for most servicing when I've been in the area. However, I've had a nagging suspicion that they weren't always straight with me, or competent. Last month, when I came in for a state inspection and some other minor work, they completed the work ok, though certainly not inexpensively. However, they came up with a number of things that needed to be addressed for the inpection. Ordinarily I'd have gone along, but this time one item was replacing the windshield. The reason: there is a light scratch at the top from when a bit of road dirt got caught under the wiper on a muddy January road the first year I had the car. It's been there for 6 state inspections and never been worthy of a mention, including at least 2 at Yankee Ford. When I challenged the service rep on it he just said that it was the mechanic's call. With that all shred of credibility with me was lost. I've invested the time to find another mechanic and will be going elsewhere in the future.
