Dave Calderwood owns and operates Vehicle Management Services in Hermon, Maine (near Bangor). Dave is a most skilled mechanic, but even more important, his customer service philosophy is unequaled. Men respect him, women trust him and fish tremble at the sound of his name. When Dave gives you information you know he's being honest and has done his best to research and fix a problem. He's right on top of scheduling and maintaining a vehicle with as little disruption to normal life as possible. Go to work in the morning, and when you leave for lunch you'll find your vehicle back in your parking lot with problem fixed, inspection sticker renewed, oil changed, or whatever situation du jour you're experiencing taken care of with no headaches for you. Since Dave maintains your schedule you don't even have to remember to service your car. What a guy!!

Two thumbs up for Dave Calderwood and VMS! We started taking our 1989 Volvo to him, based on a recommendation from another Volvo owner, but have ended up taking ALL our cars over the years (1989 Grand Voyager, 2005 PT Cruiser, 2007 Grand Caravan, 2015 Equinox, 2015 Soul). What has been said in prior reviews remains true. When I take my car to Dave, I know the problem will be found, properly repaired in a timely manner, and the price will be reasonable. Dave clearly explains what's wrong and what can be done to fix it- and whether this needs to be done NOW or can be put on an approximate timeline. Most importantly, if they can't find the problem easily, they'll keep searching and NOT charge an arm and a leg. Dave and his assistant are dedicated, knowledgable, and trustworthy. It's a bit of a drive to his shop from where we live (about 15 miles) but well worth the trip (even if it's a tow!). There is no way we'd take any of our cars anywhere other than to Dave Calderwood and Vehicle Management Service!
