Walt worked on my 1995 Chevy van. JBA gave me a quote of $1500 to fix an "oil" leak. I took their work quote that listed what they would do to another mechanic and he stated he'd do it for $750. I took it to Walt and he looked it over, put some dye into the motor, had me drive it for 300 miles and return it to him. I needed a new oil pan and one small part. The final cost to me was $250. This was about six years ago and I am still driving that van and have had no further trouble. Walt is a great mechanic and honest to a fault.

Years ago, I took a 1980 chevette to Walt on a very cold winter day. The heater wasn't working, and my feet were icy cold by the time I reached his shop. While I sat and warmed myself in the customer lounge, I pondered the bad news I expected to hear about the cost of the repair. The repair ended up being about $40, only the motor for the heater needed to be replaced. Since that cold wintery day, Walt and crew have worked on two other cars that I have owned - a 1988 cavalier and a 2000 Daewoo. I have relied on their integrity and competency, and I have not been dissappointed. Walt is a straight talking person, who is running a successful business, and making an honest buck. He is an excellent mechanic, an has surrounded himself with other mechanics of his caliber. Prices are reasonable and the work is reliable. An interesting point is that most of his customers have been taking their cars to his shop for years.

I went to the shop for the first time, based on recommendations from this list, after seeing the television commercials. I had a leak in my air conditioning freon loop. I talked to someone at the front desk, and Walt himself came out and talked to me. Because I was a first time customer, they took extra time to go over things with me and made sure I understood the work that would be performed, why, how much it would cost. They even asked if I wanted them to save the broken part for my inspection. I brought up some preventative maintenence I was interested in having done at a later time, due to the advanced mileage on my Ford Explorer. With respect to some of the maintenence we discussed, it was clear to me that they were not out to generate work where it was not necessary. I have only gone there one time so far, but I will be back. I don't use advertisements alone to pick proffesionals to do any work for me, for anything. I always seek out unbiased experiences and opinions. These guys seem like the real deal; real stand-up guys who want take take care of their customers. They realize that repeat customers and positive word-of-mouth endorsements will bring them more business in the long run.

Amazing service. Arranged for a shuttle. Very smart, honest and forthright. Sent me a thank you note with a discount coupon for bringing my car to them!

I don't even live anywhere nearby, but Walt was recommended by a good friend who had been taking his cars there for years. Walt and company kept my 1993 Ford Escort wagon running for 287,000+ miles. Now they service my 1998 Ford Escort wagon, which I also bought from Walt. I find them to be honest, timely, and priced right. They take time to explain the problem and solution. The mechanics have tons of certifications, so they know how to work on just about everything. I highly recommend Walt Eger Service Center.
