I first met John, Leroy and Brian when I owned a Dodge Omni GLH Turbo. They were the mechanics of the car from the original owner, who now owns Alfa Romeos. I used to see the cars I mentioned in the list, there. Some Toyotas and BMWs, but then, they worked on my car. They're not snobs. And they even lent me a Saab when I had to leave my car for any length of time. Or, they'd give me a lift to the bus or even home. (I've even had the luck of having Leroy recognize me at a busstop on my way in to the shop to get my car, stop to offer me a ride!) They're down to earth, honest guys and it's my pleasure to use this forum to let people know about them. If they don't do it or can't fix it, they try to help you find someone who does. Use them. You won't be disappointed.

I brought my car in for what they said, "couple days work". Turned out to be a lot longer. I found that they took their time with my car, as if they had better cars to work on. I was displeased with their service.

John and the staff have a deep knowledge of the Alfa 164, which puts them in an elite group of fewer than 2 dozen shops nationwide. I was very happy to find them when I moved to the area, and they were very thorough about looking over my car when I brought it in. They did a fine job on a steering rack replacement, and mitigated some of symptoms of the inherent "design quirks" which most 164s develop. John tends to stick to a Factory-Spec method, rather than trying to incrementally fiddle with things. For instance - there's a TSB on squeaky brakes w/ the OEM pads - I wanted to try 3rd party pads, but they recommended I live with the squeak. I know modern asbestos-free compounds do squeak, but John takes a conservative approach, where I am more willing to tweak. However, in the larger context of running a reliable shop, I think the conservative approach is entirely appropriate, and I laud them for it.

I have known these guys since before they started their own business, and have been impressed with their integrity, responsiveness and quality of their work. I especially like the fact that they adjust their recommendations to my needs, e.g. offer option of used/remanufactured parts to manage costs. I have referred many friends to them over the years and I have never heard a complaint. Rather, people remark about how nice it is to work with honest, pleasant, and reasonable people in an industry that is known for its sharks and scam artists. Tom and Ray would like these guys!

John and company maintained my 95 Passat for years. Their repairs always worked first time, and they were straightforward and very pleasant to deal with. As the car aged and I got more reluctant to spend money on it, they were creative in suggesting more economical workarounds than full repair. It is hard for a woman to find an honest mechanic, but these folks are the real deal.

Have used these guys to work on my two Alfa Romeos for years. Extremely knowledgeable in both the older models and the daily drivers. Helpful and occasionally went out of their way to assist me (rides to the train, etc). Leroy and Brian are great Alfa mechanics.

I called and asked if I could bring a honda civic for a pre-purchase inspection. They said bring it in. They did a complete and thorough inspection and gave a printed version of what they found...and then explained to me what was needed. I highly reommend them. Honest, thorough and took my car right away...no wait.

Fantastic guys! Talked to them over the phone about the problem that I had with my 1991 volvo. They were very understanding and responsive. Fixed an appointment in couple of minutes and it was a done deal. Zero fuss! Even got a free loaner. Surely, this place is a rare and gem of a find.
