Eli Rules.

I've been going to Eli now for over two years, and I've always found him to be honest, reasonable, and efficient. When I have a car issue (major or minor), I bring the car to him first thing in the morning with a note explaining the problem, and he calls me a few hours later with an explanation of the problem and an estimate. I pick it up later in the day. No appointments needed. As long as I'm in the area and my car is on the road, I'll keep going to Eli. My only reservation about his business is minor: one of his employees can be a little unpleasant at times. But Eli is always very courteous, and as I said, as reservations go, it's a minor one.

I have been doing business with Eli & his crew for the past 4 years on both of my trucks. I have found them to be honest and upfront about the work that was needed. When a part was needed that was covered by manufacturers warranty Eli told me to go to the dealer to get it fixed because it was an expensive part and didn't want me spending more than I should. Not many shops would do that for their customers. I have sent all my family to him for repaire with the same respect and satisifaction.

This is your basic neighborhood garage. I used Eli's from 1997-2001 (when I moved) and a bit in 2003-2005. They do a fine job on common stuff; suspension, tune-ups, brakes, window cranks, exhaust, belts, etc. Eli is friendly (for a busy garage owner; don't expect him to have time to chat) and responsible, and has pretty reasonable prices. It's a gas station, so they are open late for pickup or drop-off. His brother works there, too, and a few other folks; maybe two mechanics and some folks to pump gas. It's basically a one-man show though; Eli calls to explain the problems, you call Eli to arrange drop-offs, etc. Here's the bad part. Things that are tricky or brand-specific are not so good, and they are not great at details. Get everything you want done written down; like most garages, if you just happen to remember one thing on your way out, they may well forget. I hate to say it, but I would not use them for heating and ac, or electrical problems; they've screwed up a couple of each for me, and while they tried to make good, eventually I got tired of waiting for them to get it right. Anything basic, they are fine, if it's complicated, though, find someone higher-end.
