These guys are so fabulous they repaired my friend's broken Subaru [an 88 with close to 200K on an origal clutch] with a used drive shaft-- did all the consulting on the phnoe while he was on vacation in England-- called his folks long distance in Vermont. They are always reasonable and honest- - my female friends and i always trust them not to talk down to us or rip us off....so we are very loyal. They keep my 92 Toyota with 180k running like a top!!

I was terribly dissapointed with the work they did on my subaru. They charged a huge fee, broke my alarm system (with which i had never had any problems with & had not asked them to examine or fix), & were rude. Truly, my wort automotive experience ever.

I have been taking my cars to Streetwise (on a recommendation from a friend) for 15 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. These guys know their stuff, are friendly, efficient and will bend over backwards to get the job done well and as inexpensively as possible. If they don't know something they'll tell you they don't know and make suggestions to help you get the answer. I tell everyone I know to go there and have had friends call for advise about their cars. Bob and Lindsey are great! In fact, talk to Bob once and you'll trust him with your first born. The people I have sent there are now loyal customers as well. I am moving to the North Shore soon and have no intention of looking for another mechanic. I'll just plan around my visits to the guys at Streetwise.

I had my car towed there unannounced on morning with several problems to fix. They fixed everything and had it done by that afternoon. They were friendly but not long-winded, and kept in good contact with me over the phone through the course of the day. I highly recommend Streetwise.

The very first thing I noticed, being a woman, when I called Streetwise was that they were incredibly information without being condescending. Bob Costa told me everything about how they worked and it turns out that they specialize in cars like mine -- pieces of junk that barely move. They walk a customer through the process of finding out what's wrong with the customer and deciding which repairs must be maintained in order to maintain the safety and inspection of the car and which can wait until constrained budgets can otherwise handle them. They give estimates to the penny and they stick by them. Bob always calls when he says he's going to and he's incredibly gracious even when I can hear his other lines ringing (as they do, nonstop it seems) in the background. They are incredibly accommodating, too. I left my car there for a few days while we waited for an aftermarket mirror to be shipped to the shop after all the other repairs had been made (which Bob suggested I purchase, in fact, because it would be cheaper than getting a new one) and the shop doesn't really have a lot of room ordinarily. I can't say enough about them. They're really fantastic.
