As you guys well know, Volvos and Saabs are tough cars to explain, How could such unreliable cars garner such loyalty from their owners. After 24 years of owning them, I don't have a clue. I traval a lot and have rented most every thing they have, I am always baffled by how much I am pleased to come home to the "Turtle" (91' 240). So repairs/maintenance have often been a source of angush and bitter dissapointment (not to mention a liberal porking) notably 128 Volvo Reading, Cinderella Carrage Co, Cambridge -our fair city- MA. So it is with great pleasure I share my find. As a former factory mech. Dan has been with Volvo for 11 years and Saab for 15. Dan is a straight shooter who knows his stuff. He will even tell you if you are throwing good money after bad. Out of necessity, I have learned the ins and outs of Volvo like a pro, but I don't have the time or the tools to make it worth my while. But this has equiped me to qualify Dan by tossing him a few puzzlers of mine own - he's good, very good. His rates are fair, $50/hr, and he does repairs in less time than "the book" calls for. For those of you who must have their Swedish iron, see Dan.

Tommy has been fixing cars for every member of my immediate family (5 people) for over twenty years. His is basically a one man shop so you may have to wait for an appointment but it is well worth it. In my experience, he is absolutely trustworthy -- his work, no matter how complicated, has, with few exceptions, been right the first time and, if your car doesn't really need work, he will check it out thoroughly anyhow and then tell you it's fine, usually charging you nothing. In an industry where distrust is rampant, Tommy's integrity is unusual, if not unique. He's also a very pleasant person to do business with.

Great shop. Boe and Paul are personable. Diagnosed the problem with my car; hesitation/stalling under idle. Replaced the Evap Purge valve. Also adjusted the turbo and changed the oil since the car was there. Very happy with the service. I did not have an appoinment. I will definitely return to this shop. Very competent with Saabs.

Boe knows everything about Saabs. He has all the specialized tools and has had parts in stock for my repairs. He repairs and rebuilds automatic transmissions himself. Years ago I brought in my old Crown Vic that two dealers and two other independent shops could not fix. Car had lousy pickup and ran rough. He diagnosed and fixed the issue.
