Every time I have done business with Ambrose they have been completely honest and I don't come away feeling like i've gotten the shaft.

I took my '97 Dodge RAM pickup in because the a/c didn't work. They told me that they would diagnose the problem for $30 and call me before proceeding with the job. They followed through and said it needed to be recharged. They added a dye, but weren't able to locate the leak. They told me to drive it a couple of weeks and bring it back for a recheck. I did that today and they still couldn't find the leak. He told me to drive it until I notice the a/c loses its effectiveness and they'll check it again. The total cost was the diagnosis fee plus the cost of refrigerant and freon. While we were there today, I asked him to check the power steering fluid on our Buick LeSabre, because it sounded like the pump was growling when cold. He topped it off for us and didn't charge anything. There weren't any symptoms while we were there, so he suggested we bring it back and leave it if the problem returns. Sounds fair enough to me.

Ambrose is a great shop. Not much to look at (and neither is the shop!) but they get the job done efficiently and reasonably priced. They have actually recommended against doing some things that would have made them money, and that I wanted done, but they said the vehicle wasn't worth the expense.
