My truck was making a funny noise when it went over bumps. My regular mechanic referred me to Bell's as it seemed to be a exhaust problem. They quickly diagnosed the problem and charged us a mere $20 to weld the problem area onto the frame. I felt like some of the other places would have used this as an opportunity to say that we needed new pipes or something. I have since heard from several people that they go to Bell's and they have a good reputation.

No fancy waiting rooms with piped in CNN here. It's located off busy west Third, but you won't know it unless someone tells you. Nothing fancy, just good ol' boys making an honest living by praticing quality American craftmenship. Give them a try. You'll never go the a dealer or box store again, unless you can't live without CNN....

They do have a phone number: (812)330-9330. Honest, capable, guys. I think they hold true to the mechanic's summum bonum: "If it's broke, fix it."

I called them after having a check engine light which was for a catalytic converter error. With no more information than that, they were extraordinarily rude, patronizing, and unhelpful over the phone. I will not be using them for any reason.

My mechanic referred me to Belle's Exhaust. I got out of my driveway at 3:10 PM knowing they are first come first served. As it turned out there were two cars in front of mine I'd have to wait. Ten minutes later my car was taken in to the garage. Minutes after that I had a price and an estimated time for repairs. Soon I was driving home in a car that sounded new and drove better Later as I pulled into my driveway I looked at the clock it was 4:03. Reasonably priced, fast and fixed? That is my kind of mechanic! Want a nicer waiting room? I'm sure there are plenty of places who will charge you handsomely for that. I was there to get my car fixed.

These guys are honest, and they do great work. My 2009 Nissan Cube was making a rattling noise in the back, and I was concerned about whether I was going to need a new muffler. There aren't many options for exhaust work/muffler repair in my town, and I wanted to avoid taking it to one of the retail chain shops, since they are notorious for inflated prices and recommending work that isn't necessary. As a first-time customer, I was a little worried when I went to Bell's about being swindled or sneered at because I am a woman. I was pleasantly surprised by how very courteous and respectful all the guys in the shop were with me; I never felt like they talked down to me at all. They diagnosed the problem with my car—which turned out to be a simple loose flange—within about 15 minutes of my arrival, and had it repaired in less than half an hour. I paid around $35 for the repair (labor and parts) and was in and out in less than an hour. I highly recommend these guys.
