I first went to my dealer (name omitted) to fix a fuel leak at the back of my car. They told me I needed a fuel sending unit (the whole thing sticking out of the top of the tank) and it would cost me $700. Fortunately they didn't have the part and needed to order it from Chicago. They recommended it didn't drive the car. (I have had the leak for two months and driven more than 1000 miles.) I told them to go ahead and order it, then drove down the road to Butitta Bros. When I said I had been told I needed a fuel sending unit, they asked how they knew that without pulling the tank. "Exactly!" was my response. I brought it back the next day and three hours later it was fixed for $140. They pulled the tank to check, but only replaced a plastic tube section with a bad quick-disconnect. Jim, the manager, said they don't like to replace parts that aren't defective. Sounds good to me. I'll go back. I still haven't heard from the dealer.

When my car suddenly pulled to the right, I immediately took it to the dealer. It sat there all day in the parking lot. Then, I took the car to Butitta on Mill Road, Rockford, and told them I suspected a brake or suspension problem. They found that the actual problem was the tires. These were replaced and the problem was gone. I then asked them to do some preventative maintenance, namely, replace the transmission fluid and the timing belt. There was a problem with the timing belt, but, they made it right immediately and with no hassle. Now, as seems to happen all too often, another unrelated part failed and the car's performance was poor. Blas Serrano, the service manager, arranged for a computer analysis and discovered that speed sensor # 1 was intermittent. The next day, this part was replaced and my car's performance is excellent. These people could have blown me off. Instead, they listened to my concern, properly analyzed the problem and fixed it. Thank you, Blas.

My friend had her car towed there. It was not running right. They told her she needed a new engine at the cost of about $7000.00. I went to pick the car up. They had lost parts to it, stripped spark plug threads in head. Poor customer service, diagnostic service and mechanical service. I fixed the car. Cost of about $150.00+ my labor and knowledge. Head gasket set, plugs, coil. Car still running great over one year later. I would not suggest this shop to any one.

These shops are independently owned. The one my review is on is the Auburn Street location. The shop manager Neil is very easy to get along with and knowledgegable. The work I have had done their to date has been satisfactory. In summary this is an honest shop with average per hour labor rates.

Twice this shop has failed me. They cannot diagnose even the simplest of ac/heater problems and butchered my tie rod ends while performing a simple front end alignment. I wouldn't let these morons near my car again, if even it was to put air in the tires. Fool me once shame on you...fool me three times.....nope not gonna happen! Run as fast as you can from this shop! If you dropped off your car, go pick it up and get it out of there fast!!!
