I've been to Steve's several times, and they're absolutely the nicest people in the world, and totally tell you what you need, not what they could do - as in, they're not trying to swindle you. I would recommend this to every single person I know 1000 times over. They have a great record on yelp too: http://www.yelp.com/biz/transtastic-chicago

Nice guys and the shop is usually busy so they must be doing something right. My experience was that things had to be redone a number of times and even then, they didn't get the repair right. May have been my car, but the friend who recommended them admitted she did have the same experience of having to take the car back a couple of times. Somewhat limited hours and not by a train.

Steve has taken care of our car for many many years... He's kept our car running well for over 120,000 miles. He has the coolest waiting room. He's very busy, but also very flexible. It is reassuring to know our car is in good hands. He was extremely responsive & helpful with an "emergency" when my sister came from out of town and her brakes failed.
