My family and I have owned a volkswagon rabbit, beetle, gti, and limited edition golf and these are the only guys that we trust completely. They are always honest, explain whatever procedures are necessary and whether or not there are better ways to deal with it. They help stranded motorists and always make you feel important. They are just the best mechanics ever.

I liked the fact that they were not biased toward me because I am a woman. The fact that I used to do most of the work (including modifications) myself probably helped but they were glad that I knew what we were talking about no matter what part of the vehicle was discussed. They were considerate about costs and acted like a reasonable expense, in my view, might be more than I was anticipating. I was actually relieved at their prices. The work is of best quality and I would go there first for any car they would work on.

I had a vw camper van that was going through a pouting phase -- starting was uncertain. Jim even gave me his home phone number to call if I needed help. They have worked on both my (former) vw camper vans, my Nissan 96 1/2 4X4, and now have checked over my 78 Toyota motorhome before I bought it. All my experiences with them have been positive. Mostly, they work on foreign

I've had my Audi serviced a number of times by Jim and crew. There were times I've taken it other places and they'd work on it, but the problem wouldn't always stay fixed. That's what I like best about Gate City, when they fix something, it gets fixed right the first time, and it stays fixed. My whole family goes to them and we've never had a problem. If I didn't live so far away now, I'd still be using them.

I took our 02 VW Passat Wagon there a number of times. They were patient with us, usually very flexible with their scheduling, and nice guys to work with. Their prices were reasonable.

Once they overhauled an engine in my VW van and after six months I experienced some problems. I took the van into the shop and they said that they would check it out. When I returned at 5 PM they were just putting the engine back into the vehicle. They had to regrind the heads. I expected to have to pay for this, but they said they had made an error and did not charge for the work. That happened 20 years ago and I have taken my vehicles to them ever since. They are the most honest and competent mechanics I have ever had.

They are the best mechanics I have ever dealt with. They have been able to fix problems with my VW that the dealers couldn't solve. Their prices are very reasonable.
