Irish Automotive has often made minor repairs to my fleet, Wife's car, kid's cars, etc, for no charge at all. They spent over an hour going over a used motor home I had purchased only to tell me there was nothing they needed to fix right now and did not charge for the survey. Extremely honest and very good about going over problems and solutions. It's very nice to have a autoshop that you trust.

Irish Automotive has been our go to place since we moved to the Boise area 7 years ago. We even followed these guys when they moved their shop to a location less desireable in relation to our home. :) Irish was recommended us by my Brother-in-law and we have never had a need to look anywhere else for help.

When I interviewed for a job in Boise in 1996 I was told that if I moved to Boise, Irish Automotive would be my mechanic. Strange thing to learn on an interview. Several months and a new job later I went to Irish for a power problem in my car. Later that day I got a call letting me know that the part from the dealership would have cost a bunch of money so they hoped I didn't mind if they just made me the part for $1.73, I knew I was never going to leave Boise. Since then I have taken all my cars (Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, International) to Irish. I know I will get a fair deal, a detailed explanation of what's wrong, and a guarantee on all the work. That and good conversation. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

First-time customer, and I found Irish Auto through this site: Twice in ONE DAY, Randy Irish gave me free advice: I showed up with my '92 Chevy S-10, hoping ("Hoping!") he could adjust the clutch, which I fear is about to free-wheel. He said, nope, it doesn't adjust, and then gave me estimate for new clutch, $600, which strikes me as reasonable. ( I've got 115,000 miles on the original, so I can't squawk.) Some hours later, I came back with my wife's 2000 Ford Focus. I tell him the symptoms she's had, but I'm hampered 'cuz I haven't experienced them. He goes through it as best as he can, plugs in a doohickey which tells him there are no codes, listens to the catalytic converter, we give it a test run, and basically he can find nothing to work on. He said, "I can do lots of tests and set your checkbook on fire, but I can't think of anything that NEEDS to be done." I LIKE this guy! You bet I'll be back for the clutch work.

I first met Randy Irish 20 years ago fishing. We talked cars and I was impressed with his knowledge, as I had rebuilt many classic muscle cars over the years. Now, I only take my classics and my diesel pickups, and other vehicles to Randy. Skilled and extremely honest. I even call him when I break down out of state. Three times his advice has saved me from walking or doing more damage to the vehicle by continuing to drive it. As an old timer that knows auto repair, I can state that this guy is the best.
