Had a smalll self inflicted fender bender, got an outrageous estimate. $400 for two small dings w/ chipped paint Don't know if they don't need the business but I wouldn't go back w/o the "other guy's" insurance info for my claim. They are professional and treated me well. They seem to have respect for everything but how hard I work to earn my money.

I have taken both my Honda and Toyota to Acheson and I couldn't be happier. I don't know if they treat men and women equally b/c I've never seen a man in their office. I don't know if they respond well if they screw anything up b/c they have never screwed anything up for me. I would (and have) HIGHLY recommend this company to any women.

Sam and the crew are friendly and professional. They do quality work, and never do unnecessary things. They are a full service shop. The mechanical are can do about anything, and they are a great body shop.

I was on a trip with my two small boys from Kansas to Illinois when we ran over a (already dead I hope) coyote at night near the Missouri/Iowa border. The impact dislodged the lower engine guard which I was able to remove and save. The next morning in Des Moines (our overnight stop) I searched the Car Talk Mechanics Files for a shop to help--I found Acheson Motors. I called them, and they said to come on by. When we arrived, the receptionist was very kind and offered us all refreshments. The mechanic, Larry, came out and we chatted, and he promptly put the car up on a lift (I must add their garage was extremely clean and well organized). He was able to reattach the engine guard and invited me in to the shop to show me the result. Once he was done, I asked them how much I owed them, and they said no charge--just have a fun and safe trip. This was the nicest shop I have ever run into, and if I lived near Des Moines, it would be my shop of choice. Highly recommended.
