the first time i used this shop i was a student and as usual one with no money. so i was advised to go their with my problem and see if they could help. well this particular model hundi had a third valve for emission control. they evidently burned out quite often so when i went in i thought that i had a burnt valve. bob advised me that this valve was replacable from the topo and that i could do the job myself. and even told me wher to buy the part and how much to pay. sure enough it worked and i was on my way in no time. their was the time i was on my was to school and the ignition wires shorted out. well i limped into the garage and the immediately to me into the bay and replaced the distributor, spark plug wires and rotor and i was still on time for class. others have said as much for their experiendce. the shop is always busy and i send any women their because of their honesty.

Auto tech of Athens is fantastic. I was worried as a female graduate student that I would not be able to find an honest mechanic that I could afford, then a friend told me about Auto tech. I have not let anyone else touch my car for 5 years. They have always been honest, friendly and have done their best to make sure the repair is done right and is as affordable as they could make it. I have moved now and sure miss taking my car to someone I trust. If you want a good experience take your car there. But call ahead because they are hard to find.

Bob is the best. I'm moving to PA and I'd take him with me if I could! My favorite Autotech story came from my friend who's boyfriend took his Corolla to the Toyota dealer who said it would cost $1200.00 to repair. So he sold it to my friend for $300. She took it to Bob, who repaired it for $25 and has kept it running for the past 5 years! An honest mechanic with a dry sense of humor - what more could you want?

I feel there is no better place than the Auto Tech of Athens to have your Japanese car checked out in Athens, GA. While as a graduate student at the UGA, I used to take my Honda Accord to them everytime and each time they did an exceptional job. They are honest, will tell you the right thing (no BS at all). They are the people who "take pride in their work" and not fool people to make money. The only thing they do not do is body work, but they can point you to the right people who could get the job done. The new facility is much better, and spacious. Its in a much better neighbourhood than the last one. And who are the people I talked to there.... Doug, Bob, and Shane. Doug and Shane knew my car really well and so whatever they said and recommended was what I did. Also for all used Japanese car buyers.... you better have Shane Crabtree drive the car you want to buy.... he can read a car inside/out. So for everyone... this is the place to go for all Japanese Car Repairs!

Best mechanics I have ever taken my car too. Being a graduate student they often saved me money on both cars they serviced the last couple of years. As I'm moving out of Athens, I'll miss their honesty and dependability. If you have a Japanese car, there's really no other choice in Athens with such great service--auto expertise and honesty!

We depend on these guys so much that we now only buy cars after we have gotten their advice and approval. We don't do cars; thank heaven they do!
