Great guy. Will work with you if the bill gets too big, always offers several options and explains what he is doing and why. Loves his work, and can generally diagnose the problem just by listening to your engine. The garage is a little difficult to find (it's a hole-in-the-wall among several other garages in South Miami) but it's worth the effort. I have a couple of friends who live in South Beach who drive all the way across town just to get their car serviced by someone they trust. (In Miami, it's an issue.) Also, Sauro can almost always find a way to drive you to work or get you where you're going.

I found Blitzen Benz on this site because we just moved to Miami. I came in because my service engine light was on and because I was due for oil service. I had called the dealership, and they wanted $165.00 for the oil service and promised a lot of other charges to figure out the service engine light. Saro changed the oil for half the price and put in high grade synthetic oil. He recommended that I return for additional service in 7000 miles. He also inspected all the fluid levels and many other items and told me to expect my brake lining warning light to come on soon. He said the service engine light was due to intermitant indications from a sensor and that I did not need to worry about it. He also explained that it was not a "timer" or "reminder." He said he'd double check again when I came in for the brake linings... Three weeks later, the brake warning light indeed appeared. He says I can drive for about two or three weeks after the light came on before they need to be replaced. He clearly did a careful inspection of the car, but he only charged me for the oil change. Saro is so cool. When you meet him and visit his shop you will undoubtably feel the same degree of confidence that he inspired in me. He is friendly and very obviously knows what he is doing. He gave my wife and I some excellent recommendations for cars for our soon-to-be- driving teenager. He was happy to spend some time talking with us, and he showed us some of the very cool vintage cars he had on the lot. If you happen to find this...you are lucky. Very lucky.

Since 1987 I have dealt with Saro and Blitzen Benz. It is a family owned business that does business mainly by word of mouth referral. I was actually referred to Blitzen by a Mercedes mechanic in northern Florida in 1987.Over the years,Blitzen has repaired three Mercedes-Benz and two Volvos and numerous referrals of friends with Jaguars etc. All have been pleased and made other referals. Saro is competent and honest. If the car doesn't need something, he will tell you and save you money. The location is the tough part. OK by day. It is right across the street from the South Miami Post Office and in view of Sunset Place. Get directions. The service level is exceptional. In two specific breakdowns at night,Saro was reached at home and came to the rescue for my wife in one case and for me in another. He has done the same if a car wouldn't start at home or in the city. He doesn't advertise. I am urging him to put up a website. Saro works with a brother, Rafi, and another longtime staff member. I suggest you check this out for yourself. Obtain estimates at the high priced places, then try Blitzen Benz.

Fabulous. They are fair and tell it to you straight. Ive had them tell me NOT to fix things that aren't so necessary- -an actual loss of revenue for them. Great guys.

I HAVE BEEN TO BLITZEN NOW TWICE. THEY ARE ALWAYS VERY COURTEOUS AND ARE VERY COMPETENT. THEY HAVE PROVEN TO ME TO BE VERY HONEST, WHICH IS THE ATTRIBUTE THAT I LOOK FOR MOST IN A MECHANIC. THEY HAVE GIVEN ME MECHANICAL ADVICE ON MY CAR AND ARE TRUE PROFESSIONALS. I RECOMMEND BLITZEN HIGHLY.

Based on a friend's recommendation, I took my beat-up VW Jetta to Sauro for transmission repairs. As mentioned by other reviewers, he not only fixed my car quickly, but explained the problem clearly (but in no way condescendingly, despite my obvious female ignorance) and offered several options. I continued to take that car to Sauro whenever I had a problem until I had to move away. I have still not found another mechanic with his level of honesty and service. I highly recommend this shop.

Saro and his brother Raffi are outstandingly competent, honest and pleasant to deal with. I have taken my BMW, Miata, Mazda3 to them to fix the trivial to the really hairy stuff and in every case they have done the job right and at a fair price. Despite the heavy Mercedes presence, you will see Porsche's, Aston Martin's, Ferrari's etc etc being repaired there, alongside your typical daily drivers. The price is always fair. Its a delight to find such high quality service in Miami.
