I went to Chang's after reading reviews on this site, and am extremely happy I did! Sonny and Sylvester down at Chang's Car Care has always taken great care of me and my car. Even when one of the parts they installed malfunctioned, they stood behind their warranty 100%, and took care of it without costing me a thing. I highly recommend Chang's to everyone looking for a reputable mechanic.

Twenty year customer. Changs worked on Volvo (304,000 miles), Three Subaru, Mustang. They are the best, most courteous and competent people I have dealt with. Treat you with respect. Sonny is like a brother, Sylvester like a smart, gentle best friend. All of the mechanics are top notch and competent.

OMG, I'm in shock. What a fabulous group these guys are! I went in for an oil change & one tire chain said my ball joints were shot - $1000 to fix - Sheldon said that the gaskets are pretty worn but I can drive for a good long while. (Told him the estimate was high and he just shook his head.) They took all the tires off to check this - it would have been $49, but they took 'pity' on me! Freebie! The dad, Sylvester and I talked about tons of subjects (not religion or politics) and I really enjoyed the chat. (He explained to me that his employees worked for a salary - no rushing. I thought that was pretty innovative, and one more reason to love them. I was "admonished" for having worn wiper blades - changed. If you live in the Sanford, Longwood, Lake Mary or even Orlando, you're nuts not to go there - (they even take appointments)! You want honest, capable, friendly mechanics that are NOT going to screw you over - they're the Guys.

So glad I finally found them! They are very accommodating - and actually worked on both my '97 F150 and my Subaru. They did major work on the Subaru. And several things I thought I needed replaced, they simply fixed and said I didn't need the expensive replacements. The owner is VERY versed in all things automotive with a connection to the local college's automotive school. He explained everything very thoroughly. Even gave me pamphlets and other sources. They did what I thought would be 2 weeks' work in three days. This won't always be the case, but the parts they needed were readily available. I will be using Chang's Car Care as long as I'm in Florida!

I do most of all of my own maintenance such as oil changes and even brake jobs. With the newer cars you need special tools and skills. Been to the local dealer and was not happy with the experience as you cannot talk directly to the person who is/has worked on your car. Found out about this place. They are small and located behind another shop in the back but worth finding and using. Had a major issue with my Highlander A/C unit. They explained the possible solutions and the possible success rate. I elected to try the cheap option first which was a recharge with a sealant with the expected a possible success of less than 50%. Lasted for several months and then no A/C. Time to do it right. It required removing the entire dash and replacing the evaporator plus some other parts. They used real Toyota parts not some aftermarket parts. I stopped by while the work was in progress and the car looked strange with no dash and you could see the firewall. Seems like the A/C works better than it ever has and it has been about a year since the work was done. I have been back several other times for less major work.
