I highly recommend Safety Harbor Automotive. Bill Kerstein (the owner) and his two mechanics are outstanding. Bill is known in this area as a highly competent and extremely honest mechanic. When I first started taking my vehicles to Bill (a few years ago), I noticed that Bill would not simply tell you what was wrong and what needed to be done to repair it. Bill would, on occasion, go on and speak enthusiastically of the how and why the problem occurred (i.e. The Laws of Thermodynamics - which is over my head). As such, on once occasion, I interrupted Bill saying, "You're not the averaged mechanic. Other mechanics are generally not this knowledgeable." With that, Bill explained that he had studies Mechanical Engineering, but after some soul searching, came to terms with the fact that he couldn't sit in an office and be a corporate individual. As a result, Bill became a Ford Master Mechanic and then opened his own shop, ... and has been very successful. As another individual who is also impressed with Harborside Automotive Center once said, "Bill is the guy you take your car to when another mechanic has screwed it up". I'm so thankful to have such a competent and honest mechanic in our little town of Safety Harbor (adjacent to Clearwater, next to Tampa Bay).

I needed a low beam headlight replaced before driving through the night. I stopped at Harborside and Bill stopped what he was doing when he heard my dilemma. He changed the bulb for me on the spot for a very fair price.
