I have met many automotive repair personel, Lou Hamilton is one of the few that is both competent and honest. An interesting combination. I have watched his business grow as a result of this. When you notice the the number of high end vehicles, foreign built models and some rather rare ones you can see that his reputation has spread. When you talk to his customers you find out it is well earned. An honest mechanic. Imagine.

Lou and his crew are extremely honest and never take advantage of their customers ignorance. We have taken all of our vehicles there and they get to know your specific vehicle like a doctor knows their patients. I have occasionally needed what turned out to be a small adjustment and not been charged at all. They prioritize their repairs based on the customers needs. I recommend them highly. I won't go anywhere else.

I've used Lou at Rapid Auto for many years. Every time I mess up and use another repair shop, Lou is there to fix it. He runs an honest business. Frankly, you may have to schedule a repair, because he usually quite busy.

Lou and Rob are great.

As a regular customer, he will fix minor things at no charge. Lou will check his employee's work before he releases the auto to the owner. He will tell you about minor problems and whether you should fix them now or later.

Rapid Auto Repair on Cone Rd., Merritt Island was recommended to me by an old friend I trusted. My first couple of repairs done by their mechanics were fine, and the price was right. And they lived up to their "rapid" name. My last repair was to replace the serpentine belt and tensioner, and I brought the new parts with me. I was quoted $43 by a big guy in the office. When the install was completed, Lou said it was $60. Just not what I expected. Then each time I drove it,the belt squealed for about the first 5 miles. I figured it might need time for the belt to break in, so I was patient. Waited 3 weeks and it still squealed the first 5 miles each time I drove it. I took it back and asked if they could make it stop squealing. They did something to it and it ended up squealing the whole trip home. I drove it once more to the corner gas station, and still squealing, I came home and parked it. Then 3 days passed and I decided to try my luck. Went one mile and heard a slapping, so I knew the belt was coming apart... did a u-turn and went home. My brother helped me and after installing a second new belt it's fine now. I believe they didn't align the belt on the alternator and it missed a tooth on the pulley wheel, and cut the outside of the belt on the edge of the pulley wheel. Expensive belts, and I'm struggling. I'm thinking I need to bring them the new belt receipt and ask for a refund.
