This is the kind of shop you look for when you're looking for an HONEST AUTO MECHANIC! When I drove up to this shop, it was located in a residential neighborhood (they tell me the shop was there first, the houses were then built around it) and somehow I knew that this place was going to be good and not a rip off. Then I met the folks that work there and I knew it was going to be a good experience. They were extremely diligent and professional and fixed my power window/mirror/doorlock problem at a price that probably would have been twice as much at another mechanic, and definitely more at one of the big chains. Very courteous, friendly and dedicated and take the time to explain everything -- and they're not just blowing hot air, they care about your car and the work they do. I'm a theme park cast member and I know good service, and Steve's is at the top of the heap!

I had to bring my Volvo in for an electrical problem and then several more times to finally get it completely repaired. Steve did not charge me anything for the secondary visits by trying to say that it was a different problem unrelated to the first. On the contrary, he apologized profusely and was embrassed that the problem was not fixed the first time. I think this incident was a reflection on my Volvo and not on Steve's competence. For this reason and others I have determined that my Volvo is evil and any mechanic that takes up the challenge to work on it gets 100 bonus points right off the bat.

Diagnosed the alternator failure in just a few minutes, unlike my former mechanic, who prescribed a regimen of diagnosis spanning several hours. These guys know amps & volts. I'm an old-timer, raised on DC generators. That, and unable to work in the close confines of more modern vehicles. So, these people are a bargain for me. Think about it: would you want your family MD to perform brain or eye surgery? Cars are rapidly become as complicated as the human body. Go with the specialist.
