While visiting Florida recently, my Sterling 825SL broke down. Having no idea where to get it repaired, I called a mobile car repair service, and was totally ripped off, and the car not repaired, then it was towed to 2 new car dealerships, more money and still not fixed. After almost $1000.00 in towing and bogus repair charges, as a last resort I located on the internet at CARS.COM a recommendation for a repair shop. I called Connelly's in Clearwater and they recommended me to Wayne Purdy European Motors, and were quite confident they could fix the problem. I was astonished when the mechanic, Marty, called and said the car was ready the next day, and the repair costs with taxes and towing was only $146.43. A bad ignition rotor was the problem. Thank you so very much to CARS.COM and Marty at Wayne Purdy European Motors!! Dennis Conley Bellport, NY licycles@hotmail.com

I originally took my car to this business because when I ran into this website I saw they had a good review. The staff was friendly and I felt that I could trust them. I called them to see if they could work on my car and they said they could. My car had been sitting in outdoor storage for about 2 years and when I went to pick it up it did not start (but it was turning over). Everyone I spoke to said it was likely the fuel pump. Anyway I dropped the car off at this location. It was then That I was informed that they were going to charge me for a diagnostic. I asked how much it would be and I was not given a straight answer. The employee told me she wasn't sure and said "$100-$150". Also that a diagnostic was completely necessary in order to figure out what exactly was wrong with my car. I thought the rate for the diagnostic was extremely high but since my car was not running I did not want to have to tow it to another location. That same day I received a call saying that it was the fuel pump but that they could not be certain that, that was the only problem. They also quoted me at $1400+ for replacing the fuel pump. Eventually I decided to not get my car repaired. I did however have to pay $165 (more than the price I was told) for a diagnostic told that told me what I already knew. And also for a diagnostic that was not entirely accurate because according the mechanic the fuel pump may or may not have been the only problem. (If I'm paying for a diagnostic I expect it to be accurate and let me know what the issues are with my car, not to get a response saying that it may have other issues.) I am writing my review based on my experience. And based on that I would not recommend this location to anyone.
