My 4-year-old foreign car has been in Jodi's shop now for over a week for a problem he claimed would take 2-3 days to fix (speedometer/transmission issue). He dismantled my car before receiving the part he discovered needed to be replaced when he examined my car about 2 weeks prior. Consequently, I had to rely on public transportation for nearly a week longer than I should have. I had to continually call him for updates and he did not call me with a price quote prior to beginning the job – which, unsolicited, he said he would "obviously" do. He gives a nearly-charming first impression and is obviously knowledgeable, particularly when it comes to foreign cars - even patient in describing what needs to be done and why. His prices seem reasonable when compared to dealers, but you must be very patient and diligent in following up with him and his staff. I will not be returning.

My '96 Buick Century antilock brake light had been on for a long time. I have taken the car to the dealer and brake specialty shops numerous times, and the light sill was on. Totally frustrated, a friend referred me to Allstate Auto. I called and spoke to Marsha. Marsha was very knowledgeable and understanding and told me to bring the car in at my convenience. When I arrived at the shop, they took my car in right away. Within a hour, they found the problem and had it fixed. I would recommend Allstate to anyone in need of car repair.

I was traveling from Washington DC to New York when my car broke down on I95.Stuck on 95 and not knowing what to do and who to trust, I searched the internet with my phone for help.I found Allstate auto and called them.In no time they had a tow truck to pick me up. Mike took my car in and had it fixed quickly. I am very grateful to them and want everyone to know of their great customer service.

My Sebring convertible started having intermittent starter issues back in October. It would, from time to time, blow the 20 amp starter fuse when I tried to start it up. Usually this could be remedied by replacing the fuse, but on a few occasions it took multiple fuses. I took it to my usual repair shop the first time. They (NOT ALLSTATE) could not recreate the problem and didn't do much diagnostic work. The other shop kept my car for 3 weeks, then returned it to me, unrepaired. The other shop still charged me for labor. After a few more months of these starter problems, I decided to bite the bullet and take the car in, but to a different mechanic. I chose Allstate Auto Service because it had good reviews here, and also because it is convenient to public transportation. The shop is right off Kirkwood Highway, so the number 6 DART bus stops about a block away from their shop. When I dropped my car off, I ended up not even needing this, because the immensely friendly receptionist there offered to drive me home! Which was especially great because it was freezing cold and I would not like to wait for the bus then walk the 2 miles from the stop to my home. I dropped the car off at about 11 AM on Friday. By 1:30 PM, the mechanic, a fella named Jody, had called me to follow up and discuss the problem. By 5:30, he called again to say that he had found the problem (severe damage to the starter), had replaced it, and that my car was now ready. The service is amazingly fast, the people are incredibly friendly, and the work is top notch. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
